If we have Magic Bands, are they required for Magical Express?

I forgot to give my father-in-law his Magic Band when he was here over Thanksgiving. I just read about folks using MBs to check in for ME. He is flying in separately, and I've reserved a spot on ME for him. Does he need his MB as well? If so, I'll need to ship his to him.

Even if he doesn't have his booklet he can go to the counter and they will check him in

we had Magic Bands in October and they still wanted to see our ME vouchers;good thing I brought them. And this was after we waited in line an hour to get on the bus, not very "Magical".

Just used DME on Tuesday afternoon. Just used my MB, no other vouchers were needed. Worked very well.

We also just got back this weekend and no vouchers were needed, only bands. It was actually very convenient.
