IF we get the standard dining plan, can we use a TS credit for CS??

Staying offsite in a moderate this time (1st time onsite in 14+ years!!) for a super fast 3 day birthday celebration. We're going in a slower season (early November), so we're hoping for free dining. IF we get free dining, and it's the standard dining plan (isn't that the norm w/moderates??) can we use a table credit for a counter service meal?? I understand we'd get one TS & one CS a day.
We'll want to use at least one as a table dinner, but we have only 3 full days at Disney, & we'll be in commando mode to see as much as we can in the short time we're there....can't imagine we'll want to take 2 hours out each night to eat.

Also, can my picky eater DS who's 11 use a table service credit on a child's portion? Hes more of a chicken finger guy. A waste I know, just checking.

Anyone ever done this? Is it crazy? Thanks

I have never done it but was told yes. However you can't use 2 counter services to equal a table service. I know that you don't want the table service but just wanted to"FYI" those wondering.

If you're not going to maximize the use of dining credits, you'd be better off with a room-only discount and paying OOP for food. Free dining only comes with highly inflated rack room rates.

Yes, it is specifically stated in the 2012 DDP pdf that you can use a TS credit for a CS meal.

This will be my first time on DDP. What is the process for using TS credits for CS? Do you have to convert credits before hand at the resort desk, or is it as simple as telling the cashier to to use a TS credit for my Burger combo.

This year it was published in the Disney Dining Plan brochure for the first time that you can use a TS credit for a CS meal. Apparently without converting.

Should be noted that if you're paying for the dining plan, this is really not the best use of a TS credit for the value, especially with the current nightly price of the regular dining plan for guests age 10 and over.
