Penalty? Did you pay ahead of time? I don't know how they can charge you unless you paid ahead of time. We've done the WOC three times and I swear we paid after we were done with dinner.

Ditto. Obviously it would be courteous to cancel as soon as you know you won't be attending, but unless you gave credit card information (which you don't do for dining reservations at DL) then you can't be charged

Dining at DLR is completely different than dining at WDW. There are no penalties for dining cancellations at DLR.

I just read another thread and realized that you might have to prepay for the picnic dinner meals. I was referring to the sit down dinner at AG. Sorry for any confusion!

If you've made a reservation at AG or WCT there is no penalty for cancellation. Simply notify the restaurant by calling the dining line and they will process your cancellation, it is courteous to give some notice but honestly, we had an appointment go long once and missed our BB reservation, we called and apologized and asked to reschedule and it wasn't a problem at all.
If you've purchased a picnic the rules are different, I don't know what they are tho because I have never done WoC dining.
