when do you think it will be announced? We have a trip planned for May 20-25 and if schedule follows past 2 years there's a good chance there will be a 24-hour event Friday, May 23.

Just curious....Thanks

I am hoping the same as you, but Friday is actually on the 22nd! I keep checking the park hours page :jester: It was going to be our last park day but I did not think it would be good to fly out after a whole day (and night and morning) at MK. So now (jus in case) we are leaving on the 24th.

You're right tzeitel..it is the 22nd! I've looked online and at the usual Disney sites and no news yet. I just can't remember when it was announced last year. The 24 hr event is something Disney's been doing the past couple of years leading into summer. Usually it occurs the Friday before Memorial Day and basically MK in Disneyworld and Disneyland is opened for 24 hours straight. Last year the theme was heroes and villains and throughout the day they had special shows.parades, etc. It's also a Star Wars weekend. We're not MAJOR Star Wars fans, but we do want to experience it. I have ADRS for the Sci Fi character breakfast and H&V character dinner. It's just trying to figure out what to do that Friday....I have ADRS in MK for that day in anticipation of 24 hr event. But may also want to head over to DHS for some SWW thinking it might not be as crowded if everyone is at 24 hr event....

We did the SWW fireworks the evening of the 24 hour event. Not many people had the same idea. We had our pick of prime viewing.

Thanks lovethatink...I was thinking on those lines as well....that it might be a good idea to spend some time in DHS on 24hr event day as it might not be as crowded. Pus we're staying at BWV so evening SWW events will work for us. It all depends on theme for 24 hour event...if there's anything with villains like last year, DS will want to see that.

That would be great if it's Friday night and slows down SWW that night! We are going to SWW that Friday and planning MK Saturday which has emh until 2 am. If the 24 hour event is Friday night the 23rd would that change the emh schedule for the 24th at all? Thanks

Last year they announced it on February 28th. May 22nd is the last day of our trip. I would love for them to announce it again!

That's what we did last year. We stayed at WL, we were at MK for the 6:00am opening, stayed until around 11:00am, went back to the hotel for a rest, headed to DHS, did the Star Wars dinner, went back to the hotel, got up around 1:00am, went back to MK to finish the 24 hour day at 6:00am! Exhausted, went back to the hotel, got up around noon and then had lunch at Whispering Canyon. Can't remember, we probably went back to DHS after that.

It's annoying that they do this on a Friday of SWW.....it's impossible to stay up and enjoy the 24 hour fun and still be able to be in line at 4am for a character signing. I'm just saying......:crazy2:
