We booked our December Magic cruise last year and the Cat. 3's were all taken. We booked 2 connecting Cat. 5's and put our name on the wait list. I never heard from Disney and called this summer to check it out. The CM recommended that I call back each week just to be sure that none opened up.
Well, after months of calling, 8034 (one of the large midship Cat. 3's was available). I was so excited I could barely answer the CM's questions when switching the reservation.
DCL never contacted me about the cabin being available. If I hadn't called, I don't know if I would have ever even known about it. Lesson learned: don't give-up or sit back if there's a cabin you want!
