You don't have to pay with your MB THEN pay that off with the gift card. All restaurants on property will take your Disney gift card.

If it's the Swolphin then you can't use Disney room charge or gift cards at all. So it would depend on where you plan to go.

Most Disney restaurants - yes.

Matter of fact, we haven't used the dining plan in over 4 years and just pay using Disney Gift Cards and have never run into an issue.
