We (partyof 10) will be arriving at John Wayne at 10:16 AM on a Saturday. Can someone give me a good case/bad case scenario as to what time we could expect to be in the parks? We will be staying at HoJo's.

I just flew into John Wayne last weekend. About 15-20 minute drive with minimal traffic, which I would guess 10:16 on a Saturday would be.

Are you checking bags? I would assume so with a party that large. I would add at least 15 minutes for waiting for bags.

How are you getting to HoJo's? Taxi will probably be quickest. It will take about 15 minutes to get a rental car. A shuttle may take 30 minutes of waiting depending upon frequency.

I would guess if you don't mess around, you could be in the parks by noon.

It depends how you are getting to DL, but we have landed at SNA at 11:15, and easily been able to check into our hotel and then be eating lunch at Carnation Cafe by 12:00. We always take a cab from SNA (they are waiting out front) to our hotel to make the process faster. Shuttles can be much slower.

We will not have use of a car while in SoCal. Our plans are to use Super Shuttle for pickup and return to the airport from HoJo's---but that reservation has not been made so any advice is welcome. I was hoping that with a party of 10, they might consider that a full load and would not wait for a van full.

Can you tell me how much the taxi from SNA cost? I'm wondering if that might be a better option than a shuttle for my daughter and me.

It was about 45.00 with tip. When you walk outside with your luggage, they are all lined up and ready to take you to Disneyland. You never have to call them!

With supershuttle you might end up driving around dropping others at their hotels first. You never know. A taxi is a better option if you want to be sure to minimize travel time.

But with luggage for 10 people, wouldn't that take at least three taxis?

More than likely. How much is the shuttle you are looking at taking? You will have to decide if the extra expense of taxis is worth the extra time in the park. I would guess it would be anywhere from 30-60 minutes you would save.

As a family of 5, we take a cab-van. You just walk up to the guy who is directing the taxis and tell him you need a van and he will call for one. We have never waited more than 5 minutes for one, but often there is one already there waiting. For a group of 10 you can get two of these if you would like.

So you've not made reservations in advance and had no trouble? We've got a early return flight (6:30 ) so I had considered just making a reservation for a round trip package.
