If our flight arrives at 5PM, what time should we make PS for dinner that night?

I know that's a vague question, but hard for me to grasp the length of time it might take to go from gate to Magical Express area to hotel, get checked in, etc. We're arriving on Thursday 9/22 at 5 PM, if that makes any difference.

I thought maybe we could eat at O'hanas and see Wishes that first night or if not then possibly go to DTD for Rainforest OR go to Whispering Canyon. If we won't be able to sit down to eat until after 7 PM, then that will probably be too late for us to get back to hotel, and in bed for next morning. So... can anyone guess-timate for me?

Gettin' Excited already!! :cool1:

While since Magical Express doesn't start until May 5 it will be really hard to estimate even a little....but my thoughts would be that you would be cutting it close to have a 7pm ressie.....

I probably wouldn't make a PS at all, but if you really want to, I wouldn't make it for any earlier than 7:30. I'm allowing 1/2 hour for baggage, 1/2 hour for rental car pickup, 1/2 hour travel to WDW, 1/2 hour check-in, 1/2 hour travel to dinner location. That could be tight if things take longer,

HTH

Not sure how ME will be running, but I wouldn't make a PS until around 8/8:30. I may even just consider no PS and do counter or DTD just to be safe.

930pm?

we are due to land at 2pm - planning on PS dinner for 630 - so 4.5hrs to get there

Okay.... we won't want to eat that late, so... I guess we'll wing it and either just eat at the food court in ASM or if we're ealier than expected, maybe go to DTD for a couple of hours before bed. How long to DTD and back, from ASM (again, this is a Thursday in late Sept)??

It is my understandig that the Magical Express will be dropping at many disney resorts. So you may wait for others, then travel to several before yours. Add that to the normal check in procedure and transports to your dining location and you've got quite a chunk of time! :cool1:

Ive heard good things about Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney so we'll be trying that 1 night in aug

I would avoid making a PS since you arriving so late. If your plane is delayed or you encounter any other sort of problems it might be a problem in cancelling your PS. I would just go for something quick.

Yesterday while speaking to a CM at CRO I was told that each magical express shuttle will stop at a max of 2 locations.

I would give about 30 - 45 minutes each way to and from DTD. I always will assume that I will just miss a bus and have to wait the full length of time for the next one. Since it is Sept and not too busy, most likely you will be sharing a bus with the other All-Stars, so that would be the maximum amount of time it would take. If it takes less, that would be a pure bonus.

If you ask me, I think it's best not to make any PS for that night because between the baggage claim, car-rental pick (if your renting a car) and getting to the hotel and settling down, you don't really have much time. I recommend just eating at a fast food place for that night that way you can get to bed as soon as possible so you can wake up fresh. Hope I helped.

We went to WDW on 2/25. Our plane arrived at 4 p.m. (one hour late) and I had made a 6:00 p.m. PS at Boma weeks earlier. We had to get our luggage from baggage claim and then we took a van service to ASMo (they were waiting for us when we landed). We checked in, dropped off our luggage and took a taxi to Boma (waited about 10 minutes for it) and got there at 6:05 p.m.

I don't know how ME will work and how fast it will be, but if you make a PS 3 or 3.5 hours after your arrival time, you have a good chance of making it.

It can't hurt to make a PS because if you miss it, it's not like you're going to be penalized. If you make it, you make it (as long as you're not really late they should honor the PS), and if it looks like you won't you can call and cancel it.
