I come to my fellow dissers with the hope that yall won't judge(much) or laugh(much). DS7 refuses to ride a bike - I mean no interest. He says it is boring. So here it the problem: Thinking of tenting it for Halloween and weve never been to the fort and can't afford the golf cart, he won't bike, and I aint carrying that kid. I know there is an internal bus but was wondering if yall have seen any other choices like an electric scooter or something..DS has asthma and this will be our first trip without a stroller so I know he will be "done" by the time we get back! Thanks so much!:lovestruc

We borrowed the 'special bike' from a friend. It's the smallest bike you've ever seen. The kids can put their feet down whenever they need to.

We took that camping with our then 5YO and he never stopped riding it.

1) make it 'special'
2) very small

Whenever I was considering not getting a GC, I was planning on bringing DD's battery powered electric mini-scooter. We got it at Wal-Mart a long time ago and it's not something that went so fast that we couldn't keep up with it walking. If you had something battery operated like that (or maybe even a truck something), it might work. Just remember to bring your recharger with you.

My son was the same way about biking. Come to find out, it was a balance issue. He could not balance on a bike and didn't want to use training wheels. Perhaps you could get him a big wheels. I'm not sure if that is what it is really called. It sits low to the ground with two small wheels in the back and one big wheel in the front with the pedals on it. Cuts out the balance issue.

Another option is to get one of those push scooters with the steering handles. Just make sure to have a helmet for him. Since it allows him to have a foot on the ground, he may feel more comfortable on it.

Nope, not a bit he is a fit guy! DS very hyper active - did I say hyper guy! He just thinks the bikes are boring. For whatever reason Florida hits his asthma kind of hard and I want him to enjoy the trip just like us!

SDfamily:
Tried that and bought him a Ben10 bike! We paid him a dollar to ride it finally ... didn't stick!

loradisney:
So they had no problem with a little scooter! Awesome...will go take a look!

Thanks to everyone for considering!
