If July is your month, I would reconsider

Last July was our 8th trip to WDW in the past 10 years. We knew we weren't in Kansas anymore when all of the parks we went to were a wash in a sea of bright yellow, green, red and blue tee shirts, with spanish writing on them. While waiting in ALL of the fast pass lanes, the tee shirts were singing and chanting some sort of song as if they were watching a soccer match. It was such a spectacle, that while waiting in the fast pass lane for Big Thunder Mountain, one of the cast members was laughing and told us that each July, she thinks they empty out the country of Brazil and send them to Disney World. She told us that they come every July, and she also told us that on a previous day that the ride broke down and a cast member had to go out onto the ride and tell riders they needed to exit the train. No one moved because no one spoke English. In between the cutting in FP lines to meet up with their friends, and the incredible amounts of trash left behind by their groups while watching the fireworks display at the MK we were shocked. Along with the incredible crowds, we will never go back to WDW in July.

alot of groups go at different times of the year.......I have been with other Brazil groups and they were orderly and polite and trying hard to understand English and we had a great time trying to understand their language......we are all the same and want to have fun in Disney

These were not parants with their kids. These were one adult/per 1000 teenagers. We recanted our story to friends when we got back and they told us that they had been a few years back in July, and they stayed at the Disney Sports Resort and she said the halls were filled with screaming teenagers at 11, and 12:00 PM almost every night.

It doesn't matter when you go, you'll get tour groups, and some are better behaved than others.
Personally, I'd avoid July because of the heat...it would make me much less tolerant of any annoyances I'd encounter.

We were there last July as well and I guess we got very lucky because we didn't run into these crowds at the parks at the times that we were there. The only park we did run into them was at Typhoon Lagoon but they were very quiet and friendly and were not unruly at all. We WILL reconsider going back in July simply because of the heat!! :faint:

Brazilian tour groups are there during all sorts of seasons, but if you saw Spanish writing on their shirts they probably weren't Brazilian. Brazilians speak Portuguese. :teeth: Of course, any large group (such as cheerleaders) can cause these sorts of problems.

We were there last July 16-31 and while we saw a few of these types of groups there were not that many of them. They do stay together so as long as you try to not do what they are doing you are fine. We had no problems at all.

We went in July and didn't run into them at all. It was hot there but I didn't think it was all that bad. I would have prefered June but the deluxes went to value season then.

We were there last July and there were tons of teens - not sure from where, but I think Brazil. I can't remember them really getting in our way though. The only time I remember them being rather loud was before the Fantasmic show...couldn't have been too bad cause' I can't remember the details. I'm sure Disney gets huge groups of tourists from all over all throughout the year. We're going back this July...the tour groups certainly won't stop us from going or having fun.

We went in July last year and didn't see many groups at all, just got back from trip in Feb and saw A LOT of groups. The crowds in general were heavier in Feb too. We actually were surprised how much we loved going in July and are heading back this July for a week.

We went in July a few years ago and they were everywhere. DD and I made a game of trying to stay one step ahead of them. "Oh, oh, here come the yellow shirts...quick, get to the next ride before they overrun us". There really was so many of them they could overrun ya. Never noticed them rude or otherwise, just a bunch of teens very excited to be at WDW. Although, if they were screaming up and down my hotel hallway, I think I would be annoyed with that paticular group.

I would avoid touring Disney in any summer month, due to the huge crowds and hot weather. You don't need to convince me!

we have been in march, April, May June, August, September, October, November and December - and we have seen large tour groups on every occasion! I think you cant miss them.

Some of them are better behaved than others, but thats the same of any groups of teenagers...irrespective of nationality.

Teenagers are the same all over the world. They are loud, sometimes rude, and often immature.

DisneyWorld is a world wide destination, its not just for us Americans. To think that we should avoid the parks because Brazillians will be there goes against everything that DW is about. Epcot has a world showcase because the whole world is an amazing and interesting place.

Yea, our first two or three trips as a family were in the month of October and we always saw the Brazilian groups.

My family and I were in Disney last July and met a lot of nice Brazilians. We did see quite a few different groups of teenagers and they never seemed to bother us. The only bad part would be is that you have to wait in longer lines. I am glad that they get to see Disney because I love it so much.

Ever consider a little tolerance???? I am amazed that anyone would want to reconsider going to WDW during a specific month because a certain group of tourists will be there. To each his own, but I think more tolerance is needed on your part... or maybe it is just my Northern mentality :sad2:

We were there this last July (8th-13th) and although we did see a lot of teens grouped by colored shirts, we didn't have a problem. It was hot and crowded, and we still enjoyed ourselves. We were prepared mentally for the crowds and physically for the heat. We brought fans, and a small cooler for our water which we froze. We were at the parks first thing in the morning and still had a couple of hours before the huge crowds arrived. Of course there are better times to go to Florida than July, (because of the heat and crowds) but going in July beats not going at all! If you head to WDW prepared, you can still have a wonderful vacation...even in July.

The last time we were in WDW was in July. Yes, there were alot of groups of kids from many places. For the most part, everyone was well behaved and polite. It didn't bother us. As was said earlier, if we saw a large tour group coming we would just try to stay one step ahead. We had a great time. For anyone considering a trip in July don't worry, yes it will be hot but you will have a great time!
