If its raining, what rides are open?

If it is raining at the parks, which rides if any, are open to ride? I have never been to WDW when it has rained but it appears that it will be raining this time. We leave in four days! I would like to have an idea of what rides would be open and what we can do in the parks while its raining.

I've already explained to my DH that we will be in the parks rain or shine. I can make the best of any situation - esp while at DW.

Test Track at Epcot generally doesn't run in the rain (light rain, yes. heavier,no) Other than that, everything keeps going unless there is lightning in the area (and that only affects outdoor rides).

Wear shoes & clothes that will dry quickly and have fun playing in the rain

I've never seen anything but test track shut down in the rain. i would guess that maybe Thunder Mountain and Expedition Everest might shut down too but I've never seen them shut down. When it's lightening, Dumbo and the Flying Carpets definately shut down.

It always rains at some point during our trips, be it June, July, March or December. I'd say 90 percent of the rides are open. Besides Test Track, I think Tower of Tower closed on us once. The only other inconvenience is the boats that go between Epcot, MGM, and the resorts close. Plus the street performers aren't out, especially disappointing in Epcot's World Showcase.

We had a day of rain on our first family trip to DW and let me suggest Hollywood Studios for a rain day. Most of the rides (maybe even all) are indoors. I think the only things that would be an issue would be the stunt show and Indy.

We just wore our rain ponchos and pushed through the rain. The lines were shorter too.

The only rides that shut down in rain is Test Track, but the outside coasters will go down if its lighting in the area.

Only Test Track shuts down for rain.

Other things like Big Thunder Mountain and the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (and a few others that I can't remember right now) shut down any time there is lightning with 5 miles of the park - whether it's raining or not.

But the vast majority of WDW attractions are indoors and are completely unaffected by rain.

I've definitely ridden Thunder Mountain in the rain - it's a unique experience, riding an outdoor coaster with raindrops hitting your face!

I've been told by CM's at both DisneyLand and DisneyWorld, that in most cases when it's raining, the rides will still operate (unless it's torrential downpour, of course!), but if lightning out, any outdoor ride will be temporarily closed.

We LOVE rain days ! PRAY for rain days ! It keeps away the locals and all but the craziest tourist. That would be us Like most of the other posters the only ride I've ever seen shut down due to rain was BTMRR but I'm sure that was b/c of lightening and I think they'd close EE too. Have a great time, and post some pic when you get back.

Last month, the only things I recall being affected due to the rain is Dumbo, Aladdins carpet ride, jungle cruise, test track, indiana jones show, lights motor action stunt show, and thats all i can think of at the moment.
you will find that there are still plenty of things to do and see when it is raining!

We recently returned from a trip and were "rained" on by the storm. Honestly, it does not even PHASE us at all.
Be prepared, bring a poncho from home, extra pair of socks (especially for kids) in your bag and off you go.
It was POURING at times and the rides were open, just heard they close if lightening. We were also at Wilderness Lodge for Dinner one night and it POURED like I have NEVER seen in my life. We pulled up the rocking chairs in the lobby while it rained. I shopped, the guys relaxed and then it stopped and off we went.
Its DISNEY, water won't melt you I think you're right to just "forge ahead"

I agree, our first day we were at Disney it rained (Poured at times!) Of course, we didn't bring our ponchos that day either...oopps! We bought some of the Disney ponchos and headed out. it was so much more bearable witht he ponchos. I saw people who looked like drowned rats without any ponchos on, but we managed to stay happy under ours.

Wear sandals or some water shoes and have a great time!!
