First spinach was recalled, now it's lettuce. A floor cleaner has to be recalled because it is packaged like a sports drink.
What's next? Will there be an air recall? :confused3

*edited because I found a picture of it here and while I have never seen it in person, it does kind of look like a sports drink to me. I'll have to look for it when we go to the store on Friday. According to what I've found via google, Fabulosa is made by Colgate/Palmolive, who you think would know better.

I don't know I tend not to drink things that are Lavendar flavored... or that have a mop on the bottle! :confused3

Well that was the only picture I could find, but apparently there are other flavors that are more fruity. The one they showed on TV last night looked a whole lot like lemon-lime Gatorade and supposedly there is one that is red in color that smells like cherry, so it could easily be mistaken for a sportsdrink by a young child.

Needless to say..we probably won't be buying such a product. And even if we did, it'd be locked up with all the other chemicals in the house where DS can't get to them.

Ya know if someone is dumb enough to drink floor cleaner then we have Darwinism at it's best.

dingdingdingdingding

we have a winner!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

They interviewed some parents this AM about it, took of the label, had the parents smell it and asked what it smelled like...they all said it smelled like a Jolly Rancher. I can see how children could easily make this mistake. There have been almost 100 accidental poisonings so since May regarding this product, mostly by children.

I would normally laugh, but I think this looks enough like a gatorade that a kid could grab and drink without reading the label. I don't mean a toddler who whould be protected from such things, but some 10 year old, who walks in the door thirsty, sees it and grabs.

If it was your 3 year old child or grandchild, I don't think you'd be laughing. :guilty:

Accidents happen - small children can't read.

I suppose.... but I don't keep Gatorade under the sink next to the other "beverages" available.

:) No, but I've been know to unload my groceries onto the counter and then run to answer the phone or potty! My youngest is now 7, so I don't live that life of paranoia anymore.

Parents can read and they know the difference in the two products. That's why it's their responsibility to keep all harmful products out of the reach of children.

I agree. Granted - we should be teaching the kids to look before consuming, and it wouldn't be in the fridge, etc. But did they really have to make it look so much like a drink bottle? :confused3

In Brazil many cleaners come in bottles that look like that.
Besides, if I found it in the cleaning aisle I doubt I would say. Hmmm...I'm thirsty and this looks like something I should drink. That and I tend to read what things are before putting them in my mouth. Cat food comes in a can but I'm not mistaking it for tuna/chicken.

Exactly. People make mistakes. Kids, the elderly, people who aren't stupid, but just don't see well, or take the time to think.

If we wiped out everyone who comes under that heading it pretty much includes the whole human race!

Cat food won't kill you. your child, or some other innocent person. :)

This product has been around for years and in the same packaging. So, why suddenly are there so many children being accidently poisoned by it?

I have personally used Fabuloso for about 3 years now and it never occured to me that someone would mistake a floor cleaner as a sports drink.

ETA: The article in the OP doesn't say anything about a recall.

Did the OP give any accurate information in the OP?

FTR, I still think it looks like gatorade, and could use a change!
