can you recommend another book series for me? I just finished the last one and am going on vacation next week so I need some ideas - thanks!

I can't help out, but I'm your shoes.

I'm in desperate need of a new book series to read!

Good luck with your response quest!

I'm enjoying the Sookie Stackhouse series. It's what True Blood is based on but the books are lighter and funnier. I forget the author but just google Sookie Stackhouse.

Stephanie Meyer also wrote a book called The Host. It's not a whole series, just one book and it's more sci-fi in nature than fantasy like Twilight. But, I actually enjoyed it more than the Twilight series.

I've also read the Sookie Stackhouse series and the early books are really good. The later stories have dropped off in quality in my opinion, but still enjoyable.

YES!!! I read Twilight Series first and I was so sad because I wanted more...then I came across Miss Sookie and fell in love...such a great series! Can't wait for the next book to be released!

I agree with the recommendations with the exception of the host. I hated it. The Sookie books are fabulous though. Easy and fun to read. Perfect for a vacation. They aren't as...umm....graphic as True Blood is. (In case you were worried about it)

Have your read her other book, The Host? You might like that.

The House of Night Series ( I really like the first 5 or so but the later ones are getting really weird)

The Night World series by L.J Smith (There are 9 so far and the last one should be coming out in 2011, I have been waiting since I was 12 :headache:)

The Vampire Diaries also by L.J Smith (really any L.J. Smith books will work ;) )

The Vampire Academy (haven't read it but I hear it is good)

The Wicked Lovely Books

Sookie Stackhouse books

If you're not looking for vampire genre, but are looking for an easy read that is VERY WELL DONE, get yourself The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. It is a young adult trilogy, like Twilight, but is written so much better. It is about a post-apocolyptic America that is divided into districts and each year, tributes are selected to participate in the hunger games.

I hate sci-fi (hated The Host) but I loved these books. I read all 3 in 6 days.

I would rec the series in the link above. My sister told me to read them after I read twilight. They are NOT for teens and have a lot of adult content much like Sookie (which I have also read and LOVED). It is a little harder to get into after reading twilight and Sookie, because they have different "vampire ways" Much the same as Edward sparkles and can go out in the light. Sookie and the Brotherhood can NOT go out in the light.

Happy Reading!

I LOVED the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost! They are like Twilight for grown-ups. They will make you blush a little, but they are GREAT books!! I think there are 4 so far. The 5th coming out in Feb. 2011.

I liked the House of Night series as well. This is from awhile ago and you may have read it, but what about harry potter? I never had read any of them, and with the new movie coming out I just read those and loved them!

Another non-vampire series I enjoy is the Women's Murder Club by James Patterson. They are quick and easy reads.

Not sure on the name of the series but Im sure someone here will. It is the series based around Percy Jackson.

I also like sookie stackhouse novels
and the stephanie Plum novels.

Thanks for asking this questions. I am looking for new books to read too.

Lots of good suggestions here! I love the Hunger Games Trilogy and Vampire Academy. I am currently waiting for the last book in the VA to come out next month!! :yay: The Sookie Stackhouse series is awesome too. I am beginning to think that series will never end! LOL

Also wanted to recommend the Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare- its fantasy based and very good, light reading :)

Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The author has also started a new series dealing with those characters. The first one came out in October and is called "The Lost Hero." It is just as good as the original series IMO (if not better).
