So, today in a fun afternoon of pirates, something took a bad turn. I am not sure if I was wrong or not, but if I was, I will own up to it and would like to apologize.
So you know if this is directed towards you...
While getting a pirate game lined up, a guest was asked me to boot someone (who happened to be a friend) so that they teams would be even and we could start the game.
We all gave a very nice and polite lesson to this Guest about the rudeness behind booting and that it would not hurt anyone to wait just a few more minutes for another player to join. Soon, our little game was on it's way.
In the next game, one friend of mine got the boot from another friend so that the game would be even players and could begin.
If you were in that game with me, you know what happened next. There is really no need to rehash it here, but I believe everyone in that game was DIS, so someone on those 2 boats will most likely read this.
If I was out of line for my statements that followed, I would like to apologize. I am truly sorry if what I said was wrong and I hope that my apology is accepted.
I still firmly believe that booting people so that we can start a game sooner (not to mention, booting other friends), is not in the spirit of fun. We had just explained to a Guest why we would not do this very same thing. Why was it ok this time? Anyway - I hold true to my beliefs on the issue, but if I "went off" a bit much, I am sorry. If anything I said helps make Pirates friendlier in the future, then I am glad I said it all.
If you were on those 2 boats, thanks for reading this and understanding my frustration with the actions at that moment. I'm big enough to say it, if I was wrong, sorry.
Here's to fun on the seas - without the boots,
