do my own online check-in? Or do they have to do it for me? I have family travelling and 2 reservations. Since we are gold and they are silver we have 2 different dates that we can first check in. If i use Costco, do they have to check us in?

You can do everything yourself except make changes to the reservation (change state rooms, etc.). Check-in, registrations, excursions, kids club registration, character M&Gs, specialty dining, etc. are all you through the website.

You also cannot make payments for the cruise yourself, unless your are paying with a Disney Vacation Account. In that case, you are not supposed to give that account number to anyone else, including your TA, and need to call DCL directly to pay.

I've been using the Disney Vacation Account for the past few cruises. The previous cruise I used the Dreams Unlimited web page to make payments. I don't believe that you make the payments to DCL directly yourself. I don't think that DU collects your money and then forwards to Disney. I'm pretty sure that they just forward your payment information and DCL is the one that charges the credit card (or gift card, or whatever form of payment, other than DVA)
Called Costco. I asked them about payment dates. They said theirs is 2 weeks before disney to avoid any last minute glitches. If someone missed costco's date would Costco cancel even though there were 2 more weeks before disney's deadline
Just curious

I recently forgot about the 2 week difference. After them checking with a supervisor, I was able to get it extended to the day before the Disney deadline.

That is semantics really.
I just meant you didn't have to call someone, give them your credit card info etc.. Yes it is a form through the agency, and they still make the payment for you to Disney, but you manage how and when you do it yourself.
