I've been waiting to see if SW would release any Dings for my March 11 trip and so far nothing, all the Dings seem to be for January. There's like a week and a half left in January. "Let it go SW, most travelers don't plan trips a week before they need to go!" I feel better after that vent. :rotfl:

But I think this was the original intent of DING, to sell unsold seats. Not to give the rest of a us a sale on seats we purchased anyway. I expect that this last mintue booking and the "selected" flights/day trend will continue. That way they are fairly sure that the seats wouldn't have been sold anyway.

I know you're right, but I'm still cranky anyways. ;)

Truth be told....me too! :) I know SW DINGS are for the left overs, but I am still holding out hoping they will DING me for our 2/5 flight.

The lack of Buffalo DINGs has been sad. Now that it snowed here, I am thinking there won't be any. They know we want to escape.

Emmabelle,

I too live in MA and have been stalking the dings for March 11. However, we are looking for a flight home on that day. I'll warm the seat up for you!

Ah,I felt the same this afternoon. So I, on a whim, went to southwest.com and checked the price of my flight. I had paid $176/person for the flight home in March (on a Sunday). Well, lo and behold, suddenly the $79 seats were no longer Sold Out, nor were the $129 seats!! So I changed to those, and now have a credit of $193 for our price reduction on 2 one-way tickets!!

Moral of the story: don't just wait for Ding! Also re-price your flight periodically!

I am also going on March 11, but from Logan! On Delta. I booked our flights last week, they actually weren't too bad, have you checked them? We're leaving on the 4:15 flight, I wish it was the noon one, but that was getting too high for me. We're staying at SSR, where are you staying? I hear all the hotels are completely full for that week.

I'm waiting for a DING for March 18-23. Otherwise we will be driving to WDW--a 19-20 hour trip. Since they opened up the dates, STL-MCO has been $173 for one way. MCI (Kansas City)-MCO did have cheap $49 or $59 one way fares for about 2 hours that morning or so I was told. I had taken my DMIL to the doctor and when I got home about 2 p.m., they were all sold out and the next cheapest fare was $160+ one way. Other airlines have really high fares, terrible arrival/departure times or long layovers. So I am just waiting and hoping for a DING under $250 per person RT. I'm even lugging my laptop to WDW in February so I can check for DINGS.

Good luck everyone!

That's great! I keep checking my flights too just in case, I have $223 RT which isn't too bad. I'm flying from Manchester to Ft. Myers to visit the parental units in Naples. I'm thinking it's basically a free trip, since I have a credit with SW from a trip last summer and I'm staying with my parents and they're usually pretty good about not charging me. :lmao:

I am soo glad I jumped on southwest's site yesterday in stead of waiting for the DING. Today I checked the site again (to show DH how it all works). Yesterday, every pricepoint for my flight was available again. But today, EVERY price point is now unavialable except the very most expensive one!! ($279 one way!!!!)

Man, After clinicals yesterday< I didn't feel like getting on the computer. I am soooo glad I made myself do it!!

So there is hope, to all of you waiting! Just reprice your flight every couple of days.

Beth
