If I rent points for a Villa....

My DMom will be traveling with us, and so I've been looking at 2 bedroom villas. If I rent points from someone for the villas is there anyway I would get the free dining if it was being offered? I've never rented points before or stayed in a DVC resort. If any of yall could explain how the promotions works with the DVC villas I'd appreciate it =)

The requirement for free dining is to pay full price for your room and to purchase park tickets. When you rent points for DVC, you're not paying full price for your room therefore you're not meeting the eligibility requirements.

The short answer is no.

No Walt Disney Travel Co. promotions are available for points stays, only for cash reservations through Disney.

You can book a DVC through CRO, pay full price for the room and get free dining.

You can rent points and pay for the dining plan, you may come out ahead. For example, I have a 6 night stay at BWV in October. It's 175 points. If I paid $10 per point, that would be $1750. Add the dining plan for 2 adults - $504. Total $2,254. We don't need tickets because we have AP's. Same room through CRO with the free dining plan - $3,848 (includes two 2 day tickets).

Thanks guys I appreciate yall's responses. I suppose I will just have to wait and see what offers come out for our dates (mid to late January), and then decide what to do.
