If I pay my final payment, can I apply a code if one comes out afterwards?

My final payment is due Aug 29th. If a general public code comes out after that, will they refund me the difference? If this helps in answering my question, I bought the travel insurance through WDW and I don't have an annual pass.

Well, you need an annual pass to get the AP rate code - the only other way you can get a discount is if you're a Florida resident or if Disney sends you a discount. If the price is lowered in some other way, you can call and rebook.

Unless you have some weird reservation setup, you should have until 5 days prior to your arrival date to get a full refund, no matter when your payments were due.

If you have a package, which I assume you do since the payment is due before you arrive, there are some ways to change without being charged a penalty. You can change the reservation up till 21 days before arriving without paying a penalty fee. After that there is a $50 fee for making a change. You can cancel for a $100 fee anytime between paying for the reservation and 6 days out. So, if a discount becomes available to you and you can save more than these amounts, then you can make the change.
if you have a room only reservation, you would not have to pay before arriving, and then can change or cancel the reservation up to 5 days out from your arrival.
