If I have a reservation that’s still available less than 60 days out

Can I adjust the points to use the 29 holding points I have? Or would I have to call? Is this something I CAN call about in these times?

These points went into holding when I cancelled a March 4th stay. All together there were 200+, but for whatever reason when I booked on line yesterday these 29 points were still left.

The system will pick them up if any of your nights are available when you go to modify the reservation online,

It worked this way for me when I had holding points in November and had a January trip, Fortunately, some of those nights were still there so I just went through the steps, didn’t change a thing, and by the end, the holding points were used.

The thing I noticed is that with the online system, it seems to work even if night is one of the middle nights.

Even if you look and see your room is NOT available to book for your dates all you have to do is modify the reservation. When you are in the 60 day window go into your reservation and modify it by selecting your exact same dates you currently have book and you will see that your room IS available to book and the system will then use your banked points. This is the method I have used several times and it has worked for me and did not require a call to MS.

Yes, it works that way for banked and borrowed points. But holding points are only available for check in 60 days or less, so if your current room is not still available, it should not allow you to use the holding points for an existing reservation.

If it does, it’s a pretty big glitch in the system
