If free dining is offered next year..2008...

can i still book it if i already have made reservations with dining?

I made reservations for Sept. 11 - 17, 2008 with the dining plan but just wondered if free dining is offered again next year for these date will there be a problem switching to it?

Has any one done that before?

I am just trying to plan ahead. I know free dining may not be offered next year and that's okay with me but if it is - great, if not - no problem...i will still go on these dates and pay for it.

You would have to rebook with the free dining plan code and cancel the existing reservation, but it shouldn't be a problem.. a lot of people did this with free dining this year. Just keep in mind, free dining has to be available at the resort you are staying at, meaning there has to be availability in the same hotel/view for you to re-book..othewise you may have to switch hotels and/or views. (For example, one of the more difficult reservations to get during free dining this year was anything at Wilderness Lodge, so people didn't necesarrily get to add it to their existing reservation)

This year, I had booked a week at POP 9/22-9/29 with the dining plan. When free dining came out, I switch to free dining, moved to POFQ, with 2 different room reservations, and kept the same reservation. People keep saying you will have to cancel your reservation and book a new one, but this is not true. Assuming nothing changes, you will not have to change your reservation. You can simply add on the free dining.

Now, ADRs you cannot change....these have to be re-booked and cancel the original.

I called WDW and AAA to get price quotes for my trip next Sept., and BOTH of them told me if free Dining is offered next year, all I would have to do is call and they would just switch my dining plan to the free dining plan. No need to cancel the reservation and rebook!!
