IF fall FD comes out, then a few questions...

If, and I know that it's an if, I have a few questions:

1) Is Jersey week typically blacked out? I know sometimes Thanksgiving is but I didn't know if they did the same thing for this week.

2) If I know what resort I want, should I book now to get the one I want in case availability is gone if and when FD is released?

3) If I book a room and/or package and FD doesn't come out(it's a deal breaker for us), what are the rules for getting a deposit back? Can you get it back at all?

Thanks!:goodvibes

1. Not sure about historical discounts for Jersey Week.

2. I would book what you want; any discount is just icing on the cake. There is no guarantee there will be free dining in the resort you want to book.

3. If you book a package; you can cancel 45 days out; after that is it is a $200.00 penalty up to seven days out.

1) IIRC last two years, FD was blacked out during NJ week.

2) You should book with the assumption there won't be a discount. But if you would only go with a discount, then I would wait until the offer comes out. Reason is that the offer would apply based on existing reservations. The more, the less chances of an offer.

3) As long as you are not within 45 days of arrival, you would get your deposit back. Note that insurance is not refundable. Again, if it's a deal breaker, no point in doing a reservation...

IF Jersey week is blacked out - is it the whole week? I am arriving on Thursday November 10th (which I believe is the end of Jersey week). If it is blacked out I will need to check in, check out and then check back in again so I can take advantage of free dining right? Ugh - that would be a pain.
