If Disney was smart

Seeing how Disney is now charging $150 for 3 hours to get on rides without waits. I think if Disney was smart it would raise the MNSSHP tickets to around $100. I really think people would pay that much and it is usually packed and a lot of times sold out, so they could decrease how many tickets they sold also. I don't know if the ticket price has come out this year but my guess is it will be considerably higher. Why? Because the public will pay to go to the venue. We went to MNSSHP around 8 or 9 years ago and I think it was around $45. We liked it but then I was too cheap to spend an extra few hundred dollars to go but apparently people don't mind spending the extra money.

The potential for new higher prices for the parties this year has been under discussion on these boards in multiple threads for quite some time.

They have been late in posting the party tickets and many think a new much higher cost is a likely issue.

I think everyone knows a substantial price increase is coming. But Disney is not going to decrease the number of tickets sold. Why would they?

I am always amazed at how much people will pay for so little...the nighttime ticket prices are mind-numbing to me.

But, Disney knows that they haven't even come close to that point where people won't show up and pay, so I suspect they'll keep going until they do. I also suspect we are far, far away from that happening.

Its apparent that Disney has not yet reached its full potential as an over-charger.

;)

For sure. I know that I'm going to the first party regardless of price. I'm sure there are lots of other "suckers" like me.

If they had to give tickets away last night, I have to think they might be rethinking "crazy high prices" for their slate of Halloween and Christmas parties this morning.
That's true. I don't mind paying a crazy high price if I know everyone else is paying it too, but I'll be mad if I pay the high price, then they start offering tickets for free or at substantial discounts.

I reject your premise.

Disney is smart, especially their marketing people. Like it or not, it's the truth.

If they still feel the need to offer free admission to a select group at the end of May, then they might rethink the pricing.

First night? Nope.

I'm talking about the impact on hard ticket party pricing. Do you think they will wait until the end of May to announce those prices?

I think it will be around $100 too. I don't think that they'd want the bad publicity associated with almost doubling it (if they did the same price as the after hours events). I suspect they'll raise it close to the single day ticket price, then raise it again next year.

The parties are actually brilliant on Disney's part. By kicking out all of the people with day tickets at 7:00, they have essentially found a way to sell the park twice. The parties are definitely a huge money-maker for them even at the "old" price.

This seems likely. And I will pay it. The way I figure it, if we can get into the park at 4pm, that means we have 8 hours to spend. We get a special parade, fireworks, and shows, plus free cookies and cocoa, plus we get to ride rides with shorter waits. It's worth it to me. We wouldn't spend more than 8 hours in the MK if we bought a day ticket anyway, so I don't mind spending almost normal ticket price for the same amount of time in that park with extra stuff that regular guests cannot see (at least until the party dates are over and they run the parades and fireworks for the 23-25).

The After Hours thing is much the same. You can enter the park at 7pm and depending on the date, you either stay until 1am or 2am. That's 6 or 7 hours of park time, plus you get ice cream and beverages and the limited number of tickets means very short waits. Considering some people hit the park during normal hours, do their three FP+, and leave, they've basically paid a lot of money to spend just a few hours in the park too. And they didn't get free ice cream.

Doesn't seem that outrageous to me. I mean, a key chain is $6. Everything at the place IS outrageous, but this isn't anymore outrageous than anything else. LOL.
