I would like to see a rewards program for those of us that choose to spend our vacation time & $$ with Disney.
We've been vacationing at WDW for 25 years. How about a free Dole Whip?
Cruise lines & hotels I've used offer perks & rewards programs.
Would anyone else like to see Disney have some type of travel reward program?

They do track everyone. A few months ago I had an issue where Disney didn't charge my Disney Visa properly and were now sending me a bill. Well we got the issue fixed quickly and I mentioned I was planning our 6th trip since 2006. Well the girl said you do tend to spend a lot here. She then offered to tell me what I had spent on 5 vacations total. This is a number I try not to think about so I declined. I do think they try to do stuff. Because I have to pay for many of my daughters maternal relative (usually a party of 8) I tend to stay in normal rooms but during the last 2 trips (French Quarter and Animal Kingdom) they upgraded us to better views. So I do think they try.

I'm glad you got upgrades. Its always nice when something unexpected like that happens.
We've stayed many times at different Disney resorts & have never been given anything except what we paid for, which is fine but not exceptional.
I would like to see a rewards program that offers perks for choosing Disney over other vacations.
Free hotel stays, meals, a show or experience. Airlines, cruise lines, hotels & restaurants all do it.
I think Disney needs to develop a program to show their loyal customers that they know they have chosen Disney over all others....& that they care.
Imagine if somehow the total of those 5 vacations you mentioned would earn you points & on your 6th trip you have perks to use :)

I agree!!! It would make my dh less grumpy as we start planning our next trip. I guess they don't because they don't have to. They continue to raise prices and make planning a last minute trip almost impossible but still people come, including myself......I guess I could be addicted to worse.

There are a few here that go 4 or 5 times a year....more like long weekend trips. Disney should just give them the key to the dole whip machine.

I have no idea how many trips we've taken. The most days on one AP was 30 days. But I'm guessing it has to be 35-45 trips. We had one upgrade.

It would be nice for you to have some perks with all those trips!
This made me laugh "Disney should just give them the key to the dole whip machine"

I'm sure you're right, they don't need to, so why would they.
Same thing here, we have been going faithfully for 25+ years & seen the changes, good & bad.

Well I wouldn't turn any away!

But really there are some that are either making plans to go, are there, or just got back....aannnndddd repeat.

Down the rabbit hole of I've gone x amount of times I deserve xyz.
I agree with you but I thought I'd have fun with it. We have been traveling for well over twenty years and could probably retire if we had the money we spent at WDW(my dh jokes with me quite often over this)but we wouldn't have the priceless memories. Disney is a business and making money is their number one priority as is every business. I do believe that pricing has went crazy but so has gas prices, turnpike tolls, and groceries where we live. We still drive, take the turnpike when necessary, and feed our kids(we WOULD be rich if we didn't have to do this). My point, I don't feel they owe me a thing for my loyalty other than an entertaining day when we visit. But come on, is giving someone a free dole whip after they purchase 100 really a big deal?

I get the lighthearted point of the thread. It would be nice to get a little extra for being loyal.

In reality, you know there’s always going to be some never satisfied someone to ruin it by pointing out that “all I got was this lousy...dole whip.”

As others have said, they don’t need a loyalty/reward program so they most likely will not ever do one. It would be enormous - there are so many people who travel to Disney frequently, and the definition of frequently is different person to person. Plus the Dole Whip stand is busy enough, I don’t want to be standing behind a bunch of people redeeming their free Dole Whips all the time even if I’m getting a free one too :)

This thread did remind me of the Magic Kingdom Club from years ago - I remember my parents had the Magic Kingdom Club gold card - I think it was it $40 or $50 every couple years and I think you got pretty significant discounts on resort accommodations. Possibly dining and merchandise, but I was just a kid and don’t remember all the details. My parents missed it when it went away so there must have been some pretty decent benefits.

Don’t get me wrong, in theory this is a fun idea! I just don’t think it is necessary or will happen.

I love the concept of this! We go at least 3 times and sometimes up to 5 times a year from NJ. All my husband wants is to be able to stay at Pop whenever we go. He keeps saying Can't they see how often we come down and just save a room for us? :rotfl2:
We have never had a room upgrade but we also don't expect anything we are just happy to be there

Oh jeez, no ...I am not coming at this as "deserving" anything.
We pick our vacation destination & all the components of what we want to do, pay for it & hope all goes well. We are pretty lucky that we have always had good times.
That said, it would be EXCEPTIONAL if Disney recognized how loyal we (& others) are to their brand by developing a loyalty/rewards program, imo.
For example, I am a Hilton Honors member. When I choose to stay at Hilton brand hotels, I earn points towards free stays, etc. My points may pay for or reduce the amount of the next room I want to book. It is simply nice that Hilton rewards my loyalty to their brand & I appreciate it.
Like @katyjeka said, Disney most likely doesn't because they don't "have" to. I think it would be the "right" thing for them to do, again my opinion.
Even my local grocery store has a loyalty program...I got a free case of water this week, that was great, we use water every day :)

I kind of remember that MKC card or something. I think my mom had it through her workplace.
I doubt Disney will ever offer a program & I think your right that it would be a big undertaking, but they are a HUGE global brand with resources galore, so I'm guessing they could handle it with style.
