including drinks ( or maybe $90 without )... would you think that this is a formal restaurant that would require a jacket and tie for men, and a dress, or very nice skirt and blouse for women?

I was thinking nice ( new ) Khakis and a new shirt... my wife is thinking a suit... I may have to settle for somewhere in the middle. ;)

We're going as guests, invited by her friends.

I agree with your wife. That place sounds more formal than khakis to me!

Looks like a jacket and tie place to me - sorry!

We spent easily that at our dinner at the Miission Inn a few weeks ago. My husband wore jeans. His theory was they would be happy to take his money and they were.
My husband has more dress clothes then most people we know but when he is not working he wants to be comfortable.
I would say if you husband wants to wear Khakis let him.

If the place costs me as much as a new golf club, then yes - suit and tie. :)

Well I just went out to dinner last night and it was well over $100 for the two of us and we both wore nice jeans and tops. But from the pictures this looks pretty elegant. I think you could get away with nice khakis and nice button-down shirt. I don't know if a coat and tie is necessary. You could always call the restaurant and ask.

Their website says:

Attire:
Cafe Lounge and decks - tasteful casual attire
Main dining room - business, stylish attire, jackets optional

I think you would be okay in between a suit and khakis

I was just going to post this info too!

That was right off the website under "General Information" but I guess we all needed to know how much your dinner will cost.

Don't know if it helps but on the site it has:

Attire:
Cafe Lounge and decks - tasteful casual attire
Main dining room - business, stylish attire, jackets optional

How about dress pants, a nice button down and a blazer?

Here's your answer:

Cafe Lounge and decks - tasteful casual attire
Main dining room - business, stylish attire, jackets optional

eta__posted after reading your questions and then read rest of post to see that others gave the same info.
:thumbsup2

I would just wear jeans and then expect free dessert if any staff members make comments on your attire ;)

Thanks! I missed that!

how will the other men in your group be dressing. Do they all have wifes who will bug them to put on suits? You don't want to be the only one who won't. I would think a dressy shirt and khakis would be ok but it wouldn't hurt to have a blazer on hand. The Moshulu is very pretty and I"ve always wanted to go.

I'm guessing this was a joke. I hope i'm right.
