...does that mean it will be useless to try for an upgrade at port?

We are currently in an 8C, but I was hoping to upgrade to a category 4. Right now, the only category open for our cruise is a 7A. If I check back on the morning of our cruise (staying at the Hyatt the night before), and there are still no cat 4's available, is there any reason I should try to get to port ASAP?

TIA!

You won't be able to check online for the 3 days prior to embarkation, or that morning. While it's possible someone will cancel last minute, I'd say the chances of a cat. 4 opening up are slim. If there were concierge open, there's a chance someone in cat. 4 would upgrade to concierge, creating an open cat. 4 stateroom. You can keep an eye on it, but if it's fully booked now that is likely to remain.

Enjoy your cruise!

Ah, I did not realize that I couldn't check 3 days prior...good to know! Thanks!

Each cruise is taken down off the website 3 days prior to sailing. You might be able to call and ask what upgrades are available, but you won't be able to check online in that time period.

Enjoy your cruise!
