Probably not but not because of the recent issues, I watched the show sometimes when it was first on and it wasn't one of my favorites. My mama did have one of his early comedy albums and if we still had that and a record player (we just threw hers away two weeks ago) I would listen to it. He had some pretty funny routines.

His stand up (up through the previously mentioned "Himself") is some of my favorite stuff of all time. Better than The Cosby Show, IMO.

Right now I just can't watch his shows without feeling extremely uncomfortable. But The Cosby Show and Fat Albert are such good wholesome shows, I've decided that I will avoid his shows until after he is dead.

I will join your action. Not sure IF I would be able to watch after he is dead though. :scratchin

I really didn't watch too many of the original episodes so probably no on the reruns.

I mostly watched it for the actress that played Claire Huckstable as well as the kids. So maybe. He was not up on pedestal for me to begin with.

It's worth noting too that he hasn't actually been convicted of anything. If he had, maybe I'd feel differently, or if it was a case that was less "he said, she said". I don't believe that there should be a statute of limits, but it's been a long time. Hard to tell if the mistrial happened because jury believed in Cosby, or if it happened simply because they didn't believe the state had evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Constand's testimony had inconsistencies which may be understandable but they also make her look unreliable. And some of the stuff is just odd, like 6 months after Constand was allegedly assaulted, she asked free tickets to one of his stand up shows for her family. I just don't see why anyone would do that. I don't disbelieve her, and I think he deserves jail time but I can see why the jury deadlocked.

Yes. I was a fan of his work back in the day and remain a fan. I"m not a fan of the crimes he is accused of, but I cannot ignore the impact that his career has had on American culture. Fat Albert, The Cosby Show, I saw him speak at my college in the mid 90's and found him so intelligent and inspirational. While I'm so disappointed and disgusted in what he allegedly did to so many women, I cannot erase the good things he has accomplished in his years.

It does rerun on tv, and no, I'm not interested. Watched it when I was a kid, but couldn't divorce Dr. Huxtable from Bill Cosby at this point.

One of the jurors thought he'd been hurt enough already. So they refused to vote guilty. So because that juror thought he had paid his due, something beyond what he was there to decide, he decided he didn't have to do his job determining whether or not Cosby was guilty. It had nothing to do for that juror whether or not the state had proven its case.

Can I just say how much that angers me?!

Bill Cosby was hurt already?? Everything that happened to him in relation to fall out from him allegedly drugging and raping dozens of women is HIS OWN FAULT. Where is the justice for these women?? Why does that juror just NOT care about their pain!

I uh think you just did. I'm angry also.

Bears repeating. Not saying he's not guilty, but at this point no legal determination has been made.

Question for posters saying they can't separate the actor from the character: do you feel this way about all actors and their roles, or just Cosby (and other accused but not [yet] found guilty) well-known personalities?

Nope, nor will I watch 7th Heaven reruns either. While I loved both shows while on the air, and used to watch reruns whenever they were on, I just can not see them in the same light anymore. I can't separate the actor from the character, so I will just not watch.

Same here. However I will admit to watching movies like Ferris Bueller with the creep in that movie. Movies can be challenging to watch with actors and their antics.

Yes.

For example, if dozens of women came out and said, oh I don't know, Scott Backula drugged and raped them, I would no longer watch Quantum Leap or NCIS Nola. I would hate that, he seems to be a wholesome guy. But I couldn't support those kind of actions.

If you're talking about a more minor offense like just not being perfect, then no, I wouldn't stop watching him.

We are talking about a man (it pains me that I still have to say allegedly here) drugging and raping DOZENS of women. DOZENS. He is a monster and I will not support a monster, no matter who he is.

They are on reruns here and I do watch occasionally if I'm flipping through and it catches my interest.

I also watch 7th Heaven.

I can separate the role from the person and enjoy the programs. If it were a solo thing though, I think I'd see them more as themselves and not watch (for instance a stand up routine by Cosby).

I see no reason to hurt all the other actors on those shows who have done nothing wrong (assuming royalties involved...)
