IF...50 GCV units are built, how fast do you think they'll sell out?

How long for a 50 unit GCV to sell out?

  • Will sell out in the initial offering to current DVC members.

  • Will sell out in a year or less after sales open to the public.

  • Will take over a year to sell out.

I'm just curious about what you all think will happen (even if you have no interest in buying there). It will only take a few moments of your time to participate in the poll.:)

Thanks everyone.

Just bumping.:rolleyes1 (Hopefully some of you who've read the thread but didn't vote will change your minds and decide to participate.:thumbsup2 )

GVC? don't know what that is

Then I would say that they would sell out extremely fast

means there are about 2500 weeks available to buy, with 100,000 DVC members, it will go pretty fast.

Except, the sell points not weeks and there will be a lot of points to be sold. However, I do think it will sell out in less then one year.

IMO, I think they will sell out faster than you can realize they are actually selling. The low number of units will make people try to get in faster so that they can get their time of year. ;)

Wow 50 units is nothing. One thing is for sure if you don't own points there I would think it will be extremely difficult to find anything at the 7 month window. I know there are alot of west coasters that have just been waitng for this let alone existing members around the country.

I think they will sell quickly and not just to the members who really want a DLR DVC. I believe the MF's will be low so members who plan to use their points mainly at the seven mark at other resorts will add on also.

It won't be a question, We will add on the day its announced(if ever). We go in late July early August every year. I won't spend 500$ a night to stay there but I will buy points there. :thumbsup2

Hopefully not too fast. I doubt I'l be able to buy from where I live so if I want some points I may need to plan a trip in order to add on.

Please leave some points for me!

I see alot of West Coast people who go once a year to DLR buying a weeks worth of points a year. I think alot of East Coast members will buy small add-ons, and use banking and borrowing to go every 2 or 3 years.

Why would/might the GCV have unusually low maintenance fees? Just wondering...

Well, I would think they'd be a little lower due to the fact that the GCV is not in an area prone to bad storms/hurricanes/tornados, and it's in a dry climate, making it much easier to maintain the upkeep of the buildings there.

However, there is always the possibility of damage due to an earthquake in California, but I would imagine that insurance rates are much higher in Florida.

Yes, Insurance might be lower, (Although it is not a large part of MF's anyway) Taxes will be higher due to much higer property values in CA. and Salaries are higher in CA (this is a big part of MF's). I am not holding my breath that MF's will be lower.

I can see a nice market there for folks from the Rockies west, but frankly, I personally don't see much to get excited about.

I enjoy visiting California very much, but DL is WAY down on my list of places to go there. There are SO many better things to do in California. Taking a day out of a CA trip to visit DL (to me at least) is like going to Rome and looking for a Pizza Hut.
