Identifying Scrappers by Mounting Cards

I just recently started buying pins (individual pins, not lots) off e-bay and am finding the process of identifying scrappers somewhat daunting.

If a pin comes mounted on a cardboard or plastic backing card (as it appears when sold from Disney) can I assume that the pin is (probably) legitimate, or do wily scrappers replicate or have access to the backing cards and/or put counterfeit pins on legitimate cards?

And how about Disney price stickers - can I assume that a pin on a Disney mounting card with a Disney price sticker is (probably) legit?

I would still be weary even if a pin is on a black backer card. People on ebay sell the black cards. A way to check the price tags, would be to call Disney mail order and give them the sku number. If the description matches the pin on the card, it is a better chance of being authentic. As everyone on this board states, "nothing is guaranteed unless purchased directly from Disney."

I use my extra pin cards when I ship a loose pin in a trade to help give it a little more protection. However, if it comes on the card and the SKU/UPC matches what is to be expected, it is probably a safe bet that it is legit, as I do not think scrapper sellers have started making fake backings.
