My Pittsburgh PA family of DH 30ish, DD 17, DD 8 and DD4 is traveling to CA for a wedding. DH and I have been to DL but the girls never have. We have gone to WDW several times. Help me out with my plans!

We will fly into LAX on Friday 7/7 and have most of the day to sight see. We would like to see the Hollywood sign and the walk of fame. Is there any other must sees? DH keeps nagging me about what I want to do but that is all I can really think of. I did google but nothing grabbed me. We are not much of TV or movie watchers and not into celebrity sightings. We plan to hotel in Hollywood but I'd rather in Anaheim?

Saturday we will go BRIGHT and early to Disneyland and should have the time change in our favor for early morning. We will visit DL and DCA Sat, Sun and Mon. I don't really need any help there! Love Disney!

Tuesday we drive ALL day to San Fran. Wed we will tour around San. Fran. On Thurs. we will drive up to Napa. I have never been to Napa. I would really like to experience it a little bit and see the vineyards. Any kid friendly vineyards or ideas?

Friday in the Day we can Experience San Fran again. On my San Fran list is Cable Cars, Pier, Ghirardelli, Muir Woods. Any other suggestions for family fun?

Saturday is Wedding fun and Sunday we head home from the San Fran airport.

If you want to go to wine country, look into going to Sonoma. We went to the Coppala winery and they had a pool(it has a fee to use) plus a mini movie museum. Not to mention a good restaurant. We have only been to a handful of wineries but none are geared for the under 21 group.
Muirs Woods were a good morning trip (we were on a bus tour). It went to Sausalito afterwards and we took the ferry backto SF after eating lunch

P.S. stay in Anahiem not Hollywood.

Hollywood can be seen in a couple hours. You will see the sign from many points in the area. You may want to do go to Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier afterward. Go to Anaheim in the late evening to stay there after traffic has calmed down. As noted above Anaheim is a better place to stay than Hollywood.

Also you will want to have lots of time at DLR, and maximize it.

San Fransisco there is a lot to see, you will be a little rushed. Do see Chinatown, and maybe the Exploritorium. Ft. Point at the SF end of the bridge may be worth walking around.

Wine country is for drinking wine. I'd consider going through Sonoma and upto Santa Rosa and coming back on the 101. Though this day could be a lot of driving stacked onto the driving day before. Perhaps too much for the family.

Thanks for posting your questions! I'm thinking of doing nearly the same. I am registered to do the DL half marathon on the Sunday of Labor Day and DH has agreed to make it a family trip with our kids 13, 11 and 9.

I was thinking we would fly into SF and sight see there before driving down to DL for the half by the Wed before the race. Maybe do San Diego too. I'm planning on 2 to 3 weeks.

Have you considered going to the Disney Family Museam in SF? Not sure if your littlest one would enjoy it though.
