So we've had the holiday booked almost a year and we're thinking of telling the girls in the next few weeks. They were too young to appreciate us saying 18months away - and I can't calculate how many sleeps that is! :lmao:

So now it's getting nearer we're taking the plunge.

I thought of a treasure hunt with a picture of the hotel and WDW as the prize + some Disney choc lollies.

My DH thinks we could write a letter form Mickey inviting them to come to see him.

Anyone got any other fun ideas as to how we tell them????

The holiday is still a little way off for your kids, I think I would build it up each month on a certain date, doing something related to Disney, ie watch a planning dvd, paint pictures of the characters, make a scrapbook, then when it is about a month before do the treasure hunt and then do a short countdown each day till the holiday. 7 months will seem a lifetime to them.:)

Saying that when it was our first visit with the lads they were 7 and 5 and I just couldn't keep it secret, just told them straightaway, they were chuffed but still had a long wait.

As someone who has seen the power of the treasure hunt 1s hand i think thats a great idea :thumbsup2

don't forget to video it ;)

I think this idea is great! Mum made Sian, Daniel, Ellie Matthew and I a treasure hunt for the Disney Cruise at Christmas and I was in tears :rotfl2:
