We are so blessed to be going on our Disney trip as a gift from my parents - how in the WORLD do we say thanks for such an awesome gift??? They are coming with us and have never been to Disney before :)

Thanks for suggestions!

Normally, I don't suggest buying them anything, since money cannot express such a genuine memorable gift. However, I'm thinking a photopass cd or album might be just the ticket. Like the old song said,
"making memories, making memories,
taking pictures is making memories,
catching little pieces of time,
making them yours, making them mine.
Happy faces and celebrations can fade away in a year
When you're making memories, happy days will reappear.

My inlaws are taking us in 9 days (along with my sisters-in-law and their families, which is 18 people total). This is the third time they've taken us on this trip over the last sixteen years, though the group has grown each time with marriages and new babies being born every couple years. The first time my husband and I gave them a little photo album (pre-digital photography). Last time the whole group made them a scrapbook. This time we are all making them a little book where each person writes about their favorite memories, including the littles who will probably just draw something and have the parents dictate what they want to say.

As a parent of adult children, a simple thank you, hug, and "I love you" is all the thanks I would ever want.

Anything else, like a picture or two would be a very nice and very welcome, but not really necessary, bonus.

My brother and I reserved dinner for my parents at California Grill and bought a gift card to pay for it which they LOVED.
The grandchildren made thank you cards and I am in the process of making them a scrapbook of our trip together for Christmas.

I love the photo album/scrapbook ideas! Great suggestions everyone :) Thanks!!

how about a booking them a nice dinner for 2 at a Disney restaurant? say at le Cellier in epcot or someplace like that.

Just wanted to add. How about a cake that says thank you on it at one of your reservations.

My sister got me a Shutterfly gift card so I can make a photo book after I upload pictures and it was very inexpensive. Evidently you design the book and they'll print it out and send it to you. This might be nice since it will have all the pictures of you together for the trip. :)

My first thought was to buy the Photopass CD and use the pics to make them a nice photo album. You don't mention if you have children, but if you do possibly have the kids make them some room decorations (or even a small gift basket for the room if space allows). Also if you have children and your parents are not used to being around them 24/7 a break mid vacation might be a nice gesture (even if they don't admit to wanting it a break from little ones might be nice).

I'd invite them over for a dinner at your house (or a restaurant) after the trip where everyone who went can tell them stories from the trip.

If you have little ones, at the end of that day's activities, write down the things you did that day and ask them about what they liked best on that particular day. Write down what they say and don't be surprised if it's things like "I really loved the macaroni and cheese!" after you spent all that money at bippity boppity and then they met the Princess of their dreams.

The idea here is to spend TIME with them and tell them the stories that made the trip so awesome, and maybe not so awesome.

Time together is the best gift of all!
