I love to decorate and remodel, but my DBF just told me last night he hates the blank wall space up our stairs in the hallway.
Any ideas or pictures to make it look good? There are about 10 stairs... would you do family pictures, shelves or what?
:)

Ok..the lack of advice forced me to decide on my own

I think I'll do family pictures in black frames...
good idea? better idea?

In one of my hallways I hung black shelves and re-framed lots of family photos in black frames. Then the frames just kind of lean on the shelf.

I found the shelves in the picture frame area at Michael's and used their coupon from the Sunday paper. They may also be called photo ledges.

Anyway it looks really good. As usual I don't have pictures. I need to work on that. I think using one color frame looks really good when you hang a collection of pictures.

Good luck, I'm sure it will look good when you're done, Mary

I would put up a wall sticker and add a few black frames around it. Check out uppercaseliving.com for wall stickers. I just hosted a party and ended up with stickers coming out my wazoo. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!

We have those at work I think.... I put one in my daughters room that says "Love is like a butterfly, it goes where it pleases and it pleases wherever it goes"

Good ideas...thanks :)

Have fun with this. I do not have open stair in my new house. they have walls on both sides. I'm not hanging a thing on those walls. So I was no help even though I saw your thread title!

I made a photo wall in my family room-it's an arrangement of black frames with white mats and black and white photos.
I took color photos to CVS and used the Kodak picturemaker-it made black and white copies of the color photos. I even cropped them on the photomaker to make them more closeup, etc. It came out really nice!
Good luck!

I have a wall in my living room that has the wall sticker on it that say's "Family.. a journey to forever" and have a bunch of family shots under it.. nothing formal (like from a studio, those are on the fireplace) but just the fun stuff, Disney, the beach..random stuff. I TOTALLY LOVE pictures. we are going to the beach in August and I have already bought a white collage frame that has a sand colored mat with about 6 openings, just have to find the perfect pics for it now.. and we are doing a theme Halloween party, got the frame for that one too. I didn't do a Disney collage on our last trip, I bought a french board and stuck a bunch of pic's in that with pins to decorate it.

On of my walls is all the way down...the other starts half way up.. I thought something like shelves might close it in....
