ideas please

Have a look at this website, they have some lovely gifts for mother and baby. The address is babyblooms.co.uk. I ordered my sister and baby the bouquet made up of socks and hats etc

thanks tashasmum, its a lovely website, I know she's already inundated with baby clothes so if theres anything shes missing when I've checked it out at the weekend I'll order off that one.

you lot are so kind to share in my excitement for someone you don't know and probably never will :grouphug:

and Kaylee - great idea, I may buy a cheap mp3 and load it full of special tunes for her!

Have you ever met anyone who totally knows what its like to be you? to feel like someone is living inside your head, is part of your brain etc? I cant really explain it but that's what me and Lizzi are like - one and the same cell. Have been soulmates since we met at 14. She deserves the best. :cloud9:

Carol, you sound like such a wonderful friend, you really are lovely. :goodvibes

well, I've downloaded a Tn of stuff on to a new MP3 for her, including 'you've got a friend in me' from Toy Story (probably the only Disney movie she ever sat through) and You've got a friend by James Taylor as well as some of our teenage memory songs like Guns'n'roses sweet child o' mine and Huey Lewis Happy to be stuck to you. I've added a healthy dose of girl power too with Dollys 9-5 and Kirsty McColls 'these shoes'
have also bought rioja and cheesey hamper as well as baby bootees and all the other stuff.

Carol - what did your friend think and did you go all mushy holding the new baby?????

Carol, congratulations to your friend. Sounds as though you have got some great gifts for her. You may think it a bit silly but how about getting her cinema tickets that either her and her partner or her and a friend could use. Sometimes new mummies forget there is more to life than babies and somethimes it's good to get some quality time with you partner or a friend!

Thanks for asking - I had a wonderful weekend.
Friday night I had a call from Lizzis other half Craig, he was in bits and so upset cos lizzi was upset cos she couldn't breastfeed and was weeping and wailing (all mums will know the score!) so he felt really bad cos he couldn't do anything, I was in two minds as to whether to go up cos there was nothing I could really do! Anyway decided I had to go and had to take Callum as my dad was in hospital, mum was working so had no one to look after him, we went as far as bedminster saturday morning and I met up with other bestest friend Elaine who is a nurse in Bristol, had a lovely morning, we went shopping for yet more stuff for the baby, had pizza and watched football with her lovely other half Matt who works in Prague, and who I rarely get to see.
anyway, travelled up to Cwmbraen about 1ish as they wouldn't let visitors into the hospital until 4pm - awful nazi midwifes! anyway found hotel and checked in, spent an hour faffing around and watching the telly etc, then went to Abergavenny, arrived at the hospital about 1/4 to 4 and Craig met me outside, only to tell me Callum wasn't allowed in the hospital. Craig took him instead and they went off roading for the afternoon whilst I did the visiting duties.
Baby Angharad is gorgeous - and I don't get broody, she's a little munchkin! and her mummy was happy as her milk had come in that morning. Needless to say she was delighted with her winnie the pooh box set, MP3 food hamper, Noahs ark, range of baby booties etc etc
so anyway, at about 7 Craig came back with Callum and a midwife who hadn't taken the Nazi-training course let him in to the visitors room, we stayed another hour then went back to the hotel and met up with friends who were staying there and had dinner and drinks.
A wonderful weekend  thanks for asking.

Sounds like a lovely week-end Carol ~ Angharad is a lovely name:)

How is your dad Carol? :grouphug:

What a lovely weekend Carol :cloud9: Your pressies sound wonderful :thumbsup2

Thank you, you lovely bunch of coconuts (or Disney nuts!)

Hi Jen, Dad is fine, now! he had been complaining about bad stomach pains (again!) for a week but had refused to go to the docs, so he wakes Mum up thursday morning at 3 o clock to say he can't bear it any more so she has to go to the emergency doc and then transfer him to Derriford Plymouth (nearly an hours drive away, the bliss of living in the country!) so he's in to stay, I took Callum to work with me as it was half term and he ha to learn to be a travel agent at some point:confused3 .
Mum calls me friday night just before Craigs upset call to tel me shes finally spoken to a doctor and it was constipation!!!!! so he has to have an enema (with friends like me, who needs enemas:rotfl2: ) and once he's doen the biz he can go home.
So one very embarassed Dad gets home on saturday morning.:rolleyes1
how mad was I? putting us through all that worry (yet Again!) you'd think he'd have noticed:rolleyes1 that things weren't exactly 'working' :rotfl:
