All I remember about Cobra is how expensive it is. Whenever I gave birth, DH would call our insurance company from the hospital, to add the new child to our insurance (one of the first phone calls, actually). Good luck!

We also called our insurance to add our new babies right after their births, while still at the hospital. When did you let the insurance company know to add your son?

Wow, I guess I win the prize. Mine would have been $1300. Not possible for us so we elected for a high deductible private plan. Did not have to worry about pre-existing with the kids. Just got a new job this week but benefits do not go into effect until 90 days. The good news is that it is deductible on taxes.
