Alright everyone time to put on your thinking caps once again! I am the chairperson for our schools Book Fair this year. Every year the Book Fair has a guessing game for the kids. The grand prize is a $25 gift certificate to be used at the Book Fair. This year the theme of the Book Fair is "Destination Book Fair ~ Read Around the World".

I am looking for suggestions as to what to fill the jar with. I am stumped. Scholastic suggests using tortilla chips, but I am not too fond of that.

HELP!!!!!!

BTW, our school is Pre-K - 3rd grade.

What about Nestle Treasures candy? Label it "Books are Treasures from Around the World"

Different sized bouncy balls (different colors also) - they can correspond with planets.

Our school just did this for our fall carnival. A huge plastic jar was full of the little round Cheetoes-type of cheese balls. I think there ended up being around 250 of them.

Hmm... I DO agree that tortilla chips are dumb, but what would be cool?

Do you have a budget? Hot Wheels cars and airplanes? Globe bouncy balls?

stamps? I think you could get some used ones (not expensive ones but beginner set type ones) online. I know I've seen them before.

Oh what about foreign currency? change?

Budget is very small. I like the cars and planes idea....I could always raid my sons Hot Wheels and see if they have anything else along that scale at the dollar store.

I also like the Nestle Treasures idea.

Keep the ideas coming please!

I like the Hershey suggestion, you don't want any food that can break into pieces like the chips..how do you count three chip pieces? You could make the jar of candy part of the prize.

Don't know how small your budget is, but what about these...

144 for $16.99! Shipping is $6.99, so you could complete this task for under $30! (Perhaps you could even label the jar "The Key to the World"!!!)

FWIW, I order from this company ALL of the time! Very dependable! :thumbsup2
