Hello everyone :) I was hoping to get some information from some of you since everyone here has been so helpful in the past :) My DH and I were married this past February. We had a wedding planned but ended up canceling and selling everything (my dress, rings, decorations...etc) in order to help cover expenses when a major medical issue and family illness both occured shortly before the scheduled wedding date. We ended up just having a notery sign our license and not having any ceremony or reception. Things are still difficult, but slowly turning around for us and I know as we keep working forward everything will work out :)
What I'm wondering is the very minimum cost of a small family gathering for a vow renewal at Disney. (We live in Florida, so really not a lot of travel involved) We wouldn't be able to budget to do anything for quite a while, but would love to do something where our son could be included. He's 10 and has been our angel and inspiration through everything. it's been a difficult year for him, but he is just amazing and we want to recognize him for being such a sweet and precious part of our family :) We saved a tiny bit every month for a year and a half and ae taking him on a Disney cruise next week (Yay!!!) we had thought about ddoing a ceremony there, but couldn't afford the extra 1500-2500 right now. We would love any ideas you have for a Disney special event!

The smallest package for a VR is an Escape package. The price is $4750.

If you could wait until next year (2011) you can book the Memories package that DFTWs is offering for $1991 as a special anniversary price for their 20 yrs of DFTWs. It seems very affordable and is still a WDW wedding!!

First off, I am glad to hear things are turning around for you, and am so sorry you were not able to have the wedding you wanted, but I think it was great of you to give that up for what was important at the moment. Secondly, have a wonderful time on your Disney cruise, what a great gift for your DS, you will all have a great time!

Now to answer your question, previously, the cheapest you could do a Disney wedding was an Escape package, and the minimum you must spend for that is $4,750.00 for 2010. I'm not sure what you are looking to spend. However, I have been hearing rumors that Disney is going to announce a new wedding package that is very simple, starting at $1,991.00. They are supposed to announce this on Wednesday, so keep your ears open. Another option would be to look into a Swan and Dolphin vow renewal. They are much cheaper than going through DFTW. HTH and Good luck!
