Hey everyone, we are about to book and we've chosen an early wedding, followed by a reception which ends at 4.00, but the dessert party does of course not begin until 8.30pm - any ideas as to what we can do between 4 and 8? I don't want to break the party up, and I don't want to take my dress off. Are there other locations that can be hired, or activities that anyone can recommend? Any help would be very appreciated. :)

we were thinking the same thing!! We are hoping for a 2:30pm wedding but if we dont get that we want the midday one and that means a break!

We dont want people to leave either and with weddings over here we just have no breaks. I would be interested in ideas as well

That's exactly why I'm confused as to what to do - we get together here in England and then we party on until the end! Maybe we just like to party more than others! I'm sure lots of people are thinking the same, and will have some suggestions........... I hope!

i did think of one thing that we could have extra photos done but thats handy for us as we have a photographer in the wedding party so we would not have to pay for the extra hours but I dont really want people going back to thier hotels etc

where are you hoping for for your wedding and afternoon reception? If it was somewhere where they have artists set up such as the boardwalk, you could get a drawing done of everyone! Thats one of the ideas we have for our gap between a 12 o clock wedding and a 6pm meal, mind you, I don't know what time the artists set up, the boardwalk only really starts buzzing in the evening.

We had a 9 am ceremony due to our location and our reception ended about 2pm. We had everyone gather back for the Illuminations Dessert Party. After all of the excitement, most people were just glad to go to the parks, or hang out by the pool. Some of the parents also appreciated giving the kids a nap, and after I was in my dress so long that day, I was ready to get out of it and put on some "normal" clothes. It wasn't that big of a deal to slip back into our clothes to go for the dessert party.

That's a great idea - we have also had miniature golf suggested to us! We're hoping for the GF Whitehall you see.

Thanks for this - you're probably right about needing a break - I'm just worried that we'll be splitting it all up and I'll feel as though the wedding is over :(
