Ideas for thank you gift

This past weekend I went to visit a family friend in Florida. She treated my brother and I to a wonderful weekend including a stay in her condo on the beach, meals at our favorite restaurants, jet skiing, all that good stuff. It was the best weekend I've had in a long time. The best part, though, was when her and her fiancé met us at the airport, they were there waiting with a little yorkie puppy. I totally was not expecting it (she had called my mom the night before and told her that she had gotten a puppy for the two of us as we both really wanted a yorkie for awhile). I absolutely adore this little puppy and I want to send my friend a little thank you, not only for the puppy, but for the whole weekend. I just want something cute that shows her how much I appreciate her and everything she does for us. Any creative, cute ideas?

Lately I've been sending QVC Candle Impressions or Edible Arrangements as gifts and everyone seems to like them.

A sincere note and maybe a photo of the two of you with the puppy, in a nice frame that goes with her decor, would probably be most appreciated. Am I right that this is a family friend type, closer to your mom's age? I have several young friends for whom I do nice things, and their notes to me over the years have been what meant the most to me.
