I talked my manager into letting my team have an offsite team-building exercise day at Epcot next Monday (on the 25th anniversary). But, we want to find some real cooperative things to do, and I could use some ideas...

What are some things that a group of six people (three Disney experts, three newbies) could do at Epcot, of a competitive nature? Are there good Epcot scavenger hunts or trivia quizzes online, or could Guest Services provide any? Or do you have any other ideas about what a small group of coworkers could do together at the park to make it more than just a vacation day?

Wow cool boss for allowing you to do this!

You can search for hidden mickeys with in the park www.hiddenmickey.com. They also sell a Treasure hunt book in bookstores. I think that book is WDW and not just Epcot, but you could use that for the one park.

1) As the President of a company, we devise many Team Building exercises.
2) Remember, that there must be a shared goal, with separated parts.
3) Possible exercises

A) Devise a six-course meal.
. . . everyone has a course, and acts in teams of two
. . . they must buy small items that are LOGICALLY each course
. . . the dinner must flow well
B) Devise a Party
. . . everyone has a main function (eg. welcome/parting gifts, snacks, games)
. . . each buys their part, but, again it must all flow as a theme
C) Plan a Work Theme
. . . you decide what would improve your work area/duties/etc
. . . each takes a part
. . . they buy little things that improve the whole

A friend went to the Disney Institute for work and they have a Scavanger Hunt/Trivia contest for EPCOT that he had to do. Some of the questions he was calling me for the answers.

Call the Disney Institute and see if they can help you. Not sure of the number but it should be on their website.

Passporter publishes the treasure hunt book. You could break into three teams of 2, each consisting of one vet and one newbie and see who can complete the treassure hunt the fastest, or you could give each segment a point value and the highest score wins.

Good luck!

That sounds like fun!

Hate to be a downer but
Monday is going to be very, very, very, crowded. You may want to jump to another park. Numerous web sites have meets organized. The Dreamfinder group alone has 400+.
Hopefully it wont be too crowded but with Martin (Marty)A. Sklar
Vice Chairman and Principal Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering there the Disney fateful will be out in full force.

How about a Photo Scavenger hunt.

Have 3 teams.... Pair one dis expert and one dis newbie together and only ONE Digital Camera ( that way they have to stay together and cant run around seperately)

Come up with a list of items, ranging in point value from easy things to find, to pictures of Rare Characters or hidden mickey's ect.

set a time limit, and a central location to meet back at a certain time.

***I would also try to pair ppl up together that are not best friends or who have had problems working together in the past (if this is an issue)***

Jmo,

hope it helps.
