Ideas for special events after dinner?

So we are doing our intimate wedding 10/20/08, 2:30pm at SBP then doing dinner afterwards, not sure where yet. Trying to think of special events to do afterwards. I know about the Epcot dessert parties but I am not thrilled with the idea of having to rent a motorcoach to get "backstage" when we are already going to be on the Boardwalk. I thought about doing a Wishes cruise but there will be 20 of us and the boats just don't look that big even if we are split into 2 groups of 10 and DF's mom isn't too keen on boats anyway. Are there any other ideas anyone can think of for something really special to do after our dinner that involves me being able to stay in my dress? I want to be in it as long as possible!!!!! :bride:

Congrats on your upcoming marriage, WineGalTina.

I don't know what the guest limit size is for the new Grand 1 yacht, but I would look into it. It's a lovely way to view the fireworks (plus, you could have drinks & munchies served aboard).

If your guest list is too large for the yacht, I would look into a dessert party at either Epcot or Disney-MGM Studios. Ask your coordinator about the transportation requirement for Epcot and see if there is some way around it since you'll already be in the vicinity of the International Gateway. It doesn't hurt to ask.

subscribing, i'm having the same issues...

the bw is so fun, they have a fun pool bar and of course jellyrolls/adh! there are usually performers on the bw at night...can't you see the fireworks from the beach at yacht/beach?

we are going to go to pi the night of our wedding. df opened 8-tracks (when it was "The Cage") years ago on his cp...we loved it there and can't imagine being anywhere else...

i'm looking for ideas for the night before our wedding since we are not having a rehearsal dinner!

I would SO love to do PI in my wedding dress :)

But we will have DF's mom who is elderly and his niece who will be 15 at the time so we were looking for something to do where they can be included.

I was thinking about ditching the dessert party idea and just spending the extra money on doing 3+ hrs in CA Grill Sonoma Grill and watching the fireworks from there then us party animals can hit PI while the old folks head back to their rooms ;)

And the Grand 1 only holds 13 I believe. Didn't think I could really do a 2nd class boat of the people I don't really like to the pontoon...Hahaha!

We've been kicking around the idea of PI on our wedding night. I know there are ppl who won't go, but that's okay. DF's Grandma and Father would never make it though another event after dinner even if it wasn't PI. So, we'll see. I'm not a huge PI fan, but it would be fun to go out on our wedding and party and dance a bit. (<-- that's what I look like when I dance, lol.)

Aside from that, I decided too that a dp was too expensive and that the boats wouldn't work b/c of the # of ppl.

The New Grand I Seats 18 people. If you have a butler on board then it only seats 17. I went to the GF marina a couple of weeks ago and saw it. It is beautiful. It cost $450 an hour. We are looking at doing it for out 8/2/08 wedding after the rehearsal dinnner. Hope this helps.
