We will be at Disney in September and are taking 3 boys...ages 11, 6, and just turned 2.

We are looking for ways to save money and know that constant snacking at the parks will send our budget sky high! So we are planning to take some snack foods into the parks with us each day.

What are good things for kids these ages? Something that doesnt require refrigeration (of course!), not messy, light weight and portable?

I have thought of fruit snacks, granola bars, pretzels, goldfish crackers.....

Any other ideas on what has worked well for your families?

We will allow the kids to choose 1 snack each day we are there. We know we arent going to make with NO purchased snacks....and who can turn down a Mickey Mouse ice cream anyway?

TIA!

Mmm...Mickey mouse Ice cream bars. I could go for one right now:goodvibes

How bout Juice boxes, tiny teddy bear cookies, raisins box

All of your snack ideas sound great. If you have a stroller, you could bring in a small cooler for juice boxes! one thing we did once that was really fun was we got a bucket of popcorn the first night, and then the kids has a ton of fun filling it with something each day - popcorn, pretzels, chips...whatever they like!! THey loved reusing the container and it snaps tightly shut to put in the bottom of the stroller on hang on one of the handles!! We also brought in some lollipops and m and m's for a special sweet treat!!!

The last trip we made we actually purchased a small Disney backpack that was insulated like a cooler. We found it online. We used it in the middle of August and it kept cheese sticks, a couple of waters, granola bars etc in excellent condition.

You can order groceries ahead of time and they will deliver them right to bell services of your resort Just google search it and you should come up with several stores that do this. I plan on having breakfast in my room every morning.. cereal, poptarts, fresh fruit, etc.. bringing snacks in (in a cooler!!) like gogurt (freeze overnight and have as 1st snack), fruit cups, granola bars, applesauce, fresh fruit, pack PB&J sanwiches for lunch..... if you plan on being back in your room for lunch you can do easymac, chef boyordee...easy heat up things... we are driving this year and had a car last time we went, so we were able to go to the grocery store prior to our stay. You can also order a case of water, juice boxes, soda and other drinks to bring into the park to save $ on buying drinks. HOpe this helps!!!

those little nips they come in individual bags ful of cookies cheeze its all minature and crackers(variety pack so everyone has a kind they like)

What about cheese and cracker packs, cereal bars, raisins? We plan on doing a "make your own" trail/snack mix. That way you can put whatever you want to in it - cereal, goldfish, teddy grahams, candy, raisins, nuts, etc. Small boxes of cereal are another one that my kiddos like.

Frozen yogurt tubes are ALWAYS great - either eat frozen or let keep the other stuff in your bag cold.

Fruit leather is small and easy to tuck into a bag, and works well even when hot and a good filler-upper.

Pretzels and those tiny packs of peanut butter - healthy, filler and fun and can eat hot! We love dipping pretzels into the pb! High in protein too and clean and easy to pack.

Beef jerky. You can NEVER go wrong with the jerky except it might make them need more fluids bc of the sodium.

Goldfish crackers!

Raisins. Frozen grapes. Cheese strings! Frozen apple juice/orange juice with those aluminum lids to eat with spoons as slushies. Koolaid jammers.

Cracker and cheese packages (work well in the heat!). Fruit-by-the-foot. Left over steam cut into chunks with ketchup packets for dipping.

We're beach people in the summer :)
