ideas for our road trip LV to CA

I just booked our summer vacation 2014, flying in to Las Vegas and renting a car for a 10 day trip to CA. Using some of our DVC points to stay at GCV. Other than that we're open to options. What can we realistically do in 10 days in California if we start or end in Anaheim. Our kids will be 14 and 16. We're open to all ideas.

10 days total? Or 10 days in addition to Vegas and Disneyland? How many days at Disneyland? How many days in Vegas?

I would stay in southern california and not try to squeeze in SF or the bay area unless you really don't mind spending a lot of time in the car. (7-8 hour drive to and from LA to SF).

It takes roughly 4 hours to drive from las vegas to southern california.

Once in anaheim, it's about 45 minutes to and from LA: go to Huntington Beach Pier (spend time in orange county), check out The Grove, Santa Monica Pier, The Getty Museum, Griffith Observatory, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knottsberry Farm (although i don't like it)

From LA it's about a 2 to 2.5 hour drive to San Diego: go to the San Diego Zoo, Seaworld
