The child alert system post really got me to thinking....I need to do something to 'label' my 2 and 4 year old should they get lost. Both of my kids talk really fast, and I don't think that anyone would even be able to understand a name if they say it....much less them knowing a phone number. We leave tomorrow, so I don't have time to order any kind of ID bracelet.

Can anyone think of something that I can make an ID bracelet with??? Any ideas appreciated! Thanks!

PS...at Seaworld in San Antonio...they have an ID booth at the entrance and they put an ID bracelet on children when you enter. Disney should do this too!!!

you can go to Petsmart and print dog tags with name and phone number, then on the back you can write other information in the back with sharpies. Then before leaving teach them what to do if they get lost.
Also if you are looking for free i.d. tags go to www.themouseforless.com
then go under downloads...for the kids
then go into kids travel i.d.
now you can click on whatever type ypu like.
you can also use label paper and print enough ids for 1 each day.
my family also made name tags on alien green mickey paint samples from home depot..for those you can type up example Hi I'm Emily..we did it in the font called funstuff then we cut them out and glued the hi i'm ___ on the bottom of the card to cover up the paint #s then we laminated them and stuck a clothespin in the top.

My sil did a pet tag with her cellphone number on the back and tied them on the kids shoelaces. My neice had a pink heart and my nephew had a blue star. She did them herself at the machine in Wallmart. They were obvious enough that a CM would have seen them right away and called her cell if necessary but had no personal information on them.

I use a luggage tag and hook them on to DD & DS's belt loops or wrist if they don't have clothes with loops on them. It has enough space for the information they would need. Hope that helps :goodvibes

This is quick and easy. Take some narrow masking tape and a Sharpie. On the tape write "Mom's cell # XXX-XXX-XXXX" (adding your # in at the Xs, of course). Each day put the tape either inside your child's shoe or on inside your child's shirt -- right at the hem. This way if your child is lost all they have to do is find someone and show them their shoe or turn up just the hem of their shirt. Also, in various situations, I will stop and ask my kids to tell me who they would ask for help if they couldn't find me. I don't accept "an employee or a police officer," etc. I make them actually point to a person.
Have a great time.

Last year I actually just wrote my cell number on my kids' arms with a Sharpie, but that got pretty messy after 6 days! I was all set to make the dog tags at Wal-Mart last week, but the machine was out of order!!! So, I will have to find another one in the next two weeks, or it's back to the Sharpie...

Still - aren't cell phones great? This would have been a whole different conversation 10 years ago...

If you don't find a machine at home prior to the trip they have them at DTD. My sil was wishing she had a disney one done instead and almost made more!

I've made tags and laced them onto my child's shoe. I printed the tag on the computer and laminated it at the copy store. When I laced it on, I put the "confidential" information on the side that was facing down. You could also make a tag out of shrinky dinks.

I do not have do do this but i would buy the braclet taht you slide letters and # oontoi
