My fiancee and I are getting married on July 4, 2008 at Sea Breeze Point. I am expecting that it will be very hot and I am looking for alternatives to the usual tuxedo for him and his groomsmen. I have heard suggestions such as just skipping the jacket and having him wear just a vest over his shirt, but I am worried that this might still be too hot. He is open to wearing light colors, which should help a little. His outfit does not have to extremely formal, since I will probably have a simple tea-length dress, but I want him to still look appropriate for a groom. Any ideas? Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

I'm interested in hearing the answer to this, too!

Where in NJ are you from? I'm from Passaic County. We're getting married in 2008, too!

I'm from Hunterdon County. How neat that we're both from NJ! I am so unbelievably excited for my wedding...I feel like it will never get here fast enough!! :yay:

It's so exciting, isn't it?? I feel like it's a dream come true for me! :goodvibes :goodvibes

It's kind of nice to talk to people from NJ on here about planning the wedding in Disney. I think my family is still trying to swallow the idea of it being "so far" :rotfl:

Maybe you could think about different suit fabrics for your groom. :) You could have the whole wedding party wearing summery, light colored linen...instead of formal suits. :confused3 I've also seen some really nice regular suits made in light colors...same fabric, but the lighter colors make them feel a little cooler in the heat. I saw something recently in Martha Stewart weddings, where a couple wore...the bride a cute tea length dress, and the groom a cream colored suit...it was so cute!

Would it be okay if he wore shorts? They make mens suites that are shorts. It can look nice. Is your dress really formal? Typ. wedding dress? If so then maybe the shorts aren't a good idea.

Hi! I read and post over here on the wedding boards every now and then but had to share that I am in Hunterdon cty as well...

I wish you all the best!

I will keep my eye out for suggestions for you.
