Ideas for good "lightweight" shorts

I am looking for good light-weight shorts for my daughters for the trip. DDs(10 and 7)) usually wears jean shorts all summer, but I know that won't be a good idea at the parks with all of the humidity and their little thighs rubbing together. What suggestions do you have? The only thing I can find are girl swim trunks at Lands End. These would work but I am looking for more neutral colors.

I live in the boondocks and do 90% of my shopping online, as the closest stores are 120 miles away (other than Wal-mart).

I only have boys (and they are still young), but I LOVE TARGET. Some of these are really good prices (like $6) for lightweight shorts (I think they call them cheershorts, but hey those would dry faster than jeans right).

Those are perfect.... I don't know why I always forget to check Target. The sad thing is I was just at a Target last week and didn't really think about shorts until I read a post on another DIS thread.

I do a lot of shopping on line, too, because I hate shopping, etc. I would check out JCPenney and I also check out Disneyshopping.com and Disneyoutlet.com because they have some great buys sometimes.

My dd 6 wears cheer shorts all summer. She wears the Soffe brand cotton shorts but really likes their teeny tiny mesh shorts. They are adorable, comfortable and cheap too!

My daughter also loves the Nike shorts! We got them at Hibbet sports, but I bet you could find them anywhere!

My son wears the Sun.Life shorts from Lands End - they come in girls, too. They are perfect for travel. Lightweight and dry very quickly.

These are really good. Go for NON cotton. Even the little teeny cotton athletic shorts don't dry fast. You need a "water" short, swim trunk kind of fabric. Outdoor kind of camping stores, Lands End, LL Bean and campmor.com are great places to look. Good luck.
