I was wondering if any of you great cooks and crafty people could help me come up with a great idea for a fruit tray to take to a wedding shower. They did not want a fruit dip included, just a tray with all kinds of fresh fruit. I need some ideas to make it look really neat. Appreciate any ideas anyone could give me. Thank you!!!!

I made a flower arrangement out of fruit once. Lots of work but really turned out great!
I got a basket and used a foral block then I bought long wooden sticks
I made flowers out of the fruit
I used grapes as the stablizer on the bottom of the stick the I just cut up fruit with cookie cutters or a mellon scoop.
I use fresh pinapple and didn't core it but took tiny triangles out of the side to make a flower then speared it on the stick and used either water mellon ball or honey dew/cantelope for the center.
With strawberries I left the tops on. first slip a grape on then I slit the point of the berry and added a mini marshmellow then put it on the stick.
I also did sticks of just green and red grapes
sticks with just balls of mellons
I filled the bottom with leaf lettuce to cover up the floral block. Not sure if that makes sense.
I also have done fresh fruit dipped in choc. YUM!

First off if you could use a recipe for fruit pizza (more of a dessert) I have one and it is wonderful.

If you just need a fruit tray I would include things like strawberries, variety types of melon cubes, seedless red and green grapes. Yum this is making me hungry. Another idea instead of using a platter for all the fruit is to hollow out a half of a watermelon (length wise) and fill that with the fruit you prepare.

What about a watermelon basket with all the fruit inside. It doesn't have to be mixed up like a salad. You can have sections of each type of fruit inside the basket and also around the outside of it on the tray.

Thank you for each one of your ideas.....I have made the fruit pizza and it is great. I like the idea of using a pineapple and cutting the fruit with cookie cutters and melon ball scoop. I might need to practice on this......thanks again.

Fruit kabobs are fun. I cut long bambo kabob sticks in half and thread on melon, cantelope, water melon, strawberries.
