Ideas for Family Costumes for Halloween Parade

Our family will be experiencing Disney for the first time in October. We have a daughter who is seven and a son who is 4.

The children have no idea we are going and I plan (fingers crossed) to keep it that way until we leave.

We are going to attend the Halloween Parade/Party at the Magic Kingdom the first night we arrive. I thought it might be fun for my husband and I to dress up with the kids.

Any ideas on costumes we could wear as a family? Also has anyone ever rented a costume in the park?

On another note......have any of you surprised your children with your Disney trip? Would love to hear your stories!!

How about Mouseketeers?

Very easy to make costumes. A white turtleneck with your name ironed on, black slacks or skirts for the girls and of course, those great mouse ears.

Also inexpensive and makes a cute group outfit.

Our first Halloween parade, I dressed up as Cruella, the kids were Dalamations, and my Husband was Jasper!

The 2nd Halloween we dressed up as Universal studios monsters! My daughter was the Bride of Frankenstein, my son was Dracula, I was the wicked witch from the East, my husband was Frankenstein.

The 3rd Halloween we did the Peter Pan theme! son was Captain HOok, Daughter Tinkerbell, I was Peter Pan, my husband was Mr. Smee

This year we are doing Scooby and the Gang! My husband is Fred, I'm Velma, daughter is Daphne, my son is Shaggy

We will be at the parade Oct. 5th!

We are going as the peter pan clan this year. My Hubby is Captian Hook and Ds is Peter Pan and I am Tinkerbell. Any ideas for my 13 month old would be helpful. Did you want it to be Disney themed? There are the good costumes like the Flintstone family or the wizard of Oz gang.

If you want to keep it disney, some ideas are to go as the Cinderella Group. You could be the godmother, your DS and DD could go as cinderella and the prince. and your DH could go as the Evil Queen.

You could do Snow White where you and your DH could be Snow White and Prince Charming and your kids could be the dwarfs.

You could do the little mermaid. Your DD and DS could be Areial and Prince Eric and your and your Dh could be King Triton and Ursala. Or Sabastian or Flounder.

You could do the Alice in Wonderland. The Madhatter, Alice, and tweedle dee and dum! or the king and queens of hearts!

There is always mickey minnie donald and daisy!

I am out of ideas for now..but I will try to keep thinking

My hubby and I are going as Annette, and Cubby. Since my kids don''t have a clue about the mouseketeers, they are going as Minnie, and Goofy.

Do you think I can get by with black shorts, instead of a skirt. The thought of a skirt in MK, doesn't do much for me. My DH will want shorts too, so we will match.


BTW--- I saw a post awhile back about a family that went as the Croc hunter family. I thought it was a great idea. They all wore Khacki, and the hats. Took rubber snakes. You get the idea. Though it sounded cute.
