I have $80 in Kohls cash to spend due to buying a carpet cleaner (Bissell Lift Off - LOVE IT, by the way). I thought a good use of the Kohls cash would be to buy some things for the girls' Easter baskets. Otherwise I will just spend it on new bras and underware, etc. for me.

I would like a bag or something for the actual "basket" and I thought a beach bag theme would be nice since we are going on a cruise this summer. But I can't seem to find beach bags at Kohls.com. Do they have them in store?

To go along with the beach theme, I thought about some of their beach towels. But I am not sure that we will carry beach towels onto the ship. I think we would just use the ones there.

Any other ideas? It doesn't have to necessarily be beach theme.

My girls are teenagers.

I was just putting together a beach basket for an auctionand I was looking for beach bags and towels I didn't find any at Kohl's yet. Too early in the season I was told.
I don't know if you will find flip flops yet but that would be fun. I am sure there are some cute earings or hair clips. They always have candy but it may still be Valentine's Day candy.
When we go on a Disney cruise we always bring the insulated glasses with the straws for the drink station. The cups they provide there are very small. I bet you could find some at Kohl's.

I think a beach bag would be a great idea for the "basket". If you're going to go with items for the cruise, here are some ideas. First off, it would be nice to get a beach towel for them (but there's really no need to bring them on the ship, you will always use the ones on there) But every Easter, I have always bought my boys a new beach towel and bathing suit. You could also get them a new beach cover up, sunglasses, flip flops, hair tie/headband, sunscreen, a new book, beach hat, lanyard to put their key card in. Just some ideas.....

I'm sure they would have some totes you could use. Maybe Nail polish/lotion and things like that. Jewelry and some cute cruise wear as well.

:rotfl2: Seriously....bras and underwear is what I always spend my Kohls cash on because I HATE spending MY money on that stuff!

I didn't read all of the replies....but sometimes they have summery things online before they have them in the store. Good luck!

Kohl's will take expired Kohls cash. One of the cashiers told me he's never seen any turned away. If you want to hold on until summer things are in the store you can. I know I've thrown some away in the past :(

Sunglasses! Our Kohls had a section 80% off! Our Kohls is also carrying Tervis tumblers, so that might be an idea.

There has been threads about this in the past and I believe this policy has changed. At least in my area, Kohls will no longer take expired Kohls cash, so you will definately want to check at your local Kohls store before you do this.

I know you said beach bags, but here's another thought.

Little 'hipster' purses or cross-body purses. They're coming out with some cute ones right now, and I know my 13dd used hers everyday to carry the phone from our room in! That was our rule, so that she didn't 'misplace' the phone. And she loved keeping her room key and having the phone all the time!

Another few ideas? Dress shoes for formal nights, cute sweaters for dining, a jewelry 'fold-up' or make up travel bag.

The Easter before our cruise, all my kids got a travel bag stuffed with toiletries for the ship, candy, and other things I thought they might need for the cruise! They've used them every trip since!
And in the junior section, they have some really cute MUDD accessories for the teens!

And if they start putting summer stuff out, you might could find swimsuit cover ups, sports shorts, and of course, they carry Nike/Adidas stuff. My teen loves that stuff all the time!

Have fun preparing!:thumbsup2

Mine takes expired kohls cash as well.

I'm probably wrong about a policy change, I thought I had read that in an older thread. My Kohls is just really picky. They will take expired Kohls cash ONE day after it expires, but that is it.

I work at Kohls in VA and some will still take expired cash however I believe we are not supposed to any more the policy has change. We don't have much beach stuff in yet other than swim suits. The sunglasses, if you can find them, are clearance and we have recently started putting out flip flops in the accessories section. Nail polish and foot creams might be a good idea. We have a selection of new cute turvis tumblers out. Our store has them up by the registers. Maybe some cute small earrings? If they have long hair new hair clips to put their hair up. We prob have a few cover ups in the bathing suit section.

Glad you are happy with your machine.

I do beach bags for my girls every Easter!! Love the idea.

Here are some things I include:

- flip flops
- lipglosses/chapsticks
- sunblocks
- nail polishes
- sunglasses
- hats
- bathing suits
- coverups
- books
- sundresses
- earrings
- hair clippies/bows

Thanks guys for the ideas. This is what I got with my $80 in Kohls cash. They are beach coverups and flip flops.

It came out almost exactly. I only had to pay a couple of dollars in cash for tax.

They didn't have any beach bags. But I did see some at Target.com that were in the same colors. So I am going to pick those up.
