I was wondering what suggestions people would have to make a trip to OKW fun for little boys (3 & 7). What kinds of activities are at the Community Hall that they might enjoy? How about other things around the resort? I thought I heard mention that they sometimes have a DJ at the pool? This would be for President's Week.

Pam,

We had our two boys(4 and 9) at OKW this past summer. They loved the pools and play area, and spent some time in the arcade. The most fun they had away from the parks, was at Disney Quest in DD. Two afternoons we took the ferry to DD and spent several hours at DQ, playing games and learning to draw the characters. Hope they have a great time!

Thanks for the suggestion...and thanks for making me your first post! Hope it's one of many more.

Pam,
My kids are 6 and 8 and have been going to OKW for many years now. It is their favorite resort. They love all the pools. They also love the boat to DD, the fishing excursion, water mice, bike riding, looking for seashells in the sidewalks, shopping at GTG, and Olivias. Also, last month our room was right next to the playground so they could go down there on their own while dh and I sat on the balcony. For some reason, the community hall has never been that much of a thrill for them when we are there. Although they have lots of activities, we are almost always the only family participating. Of course, most kids are in school when we travel so that could explain it. Either way, I'm sure the boys will have a blast.

Another idea if you visit Downtown Disney...in addition to Disney Quest, which they'll love, stop by Magic Masters. I am a walking advertisement for this place. This "store" actually has mini magic shows throughout the day (with each trick actually being its own advertisement). Anyway, there's no pressure to buy. Watching the magicians do tricks is fun and free. Best of all, they are comedians, too! It's my son's favorite stop, and it is located a few doors down from Disney Quest.
