My DD turns 15 just before we leave for vacation. I want to go out to dinner that first night and celebrate her birthday. What are some good places that do special things (sing or bring cake etc) for the birthday guest? Downtown Disney City Walk or other Orlando places (prefer not in the parks as we will not have our tickets activated till the next morning).
TIA

When we were there in August 2007 DD turned 16. We had dinner at Barney's Steak House. Food was great and she got a free piece of cake. Waitstaff brought it out and sang. I got a certificate through www.restaurants.com for it. Right now you can get $25 certificates for $3 using code FEAST. Another place that has gotten good reviews is BB Kings House of Blues right on International Drive. I got a certificate for there to try for our upcoming trip.

Now that you mention it, I remember being at the Myrtle Beach Hard Rock and they brought out, if I remember correctly, a huge Sundae and sang HB--Hard Rock's are probably all the same.:bday:

My son celebrated his 15th birthday at Bumba Gumps during lunch last July and loved it. He loves the movie Forest Gump (the restaurant theme) and when the waitress came around and did their "thing" by asking questions about the movie, my son (as well as the rest of us) was rewarded with colorful mardi gras beads when he got the answer right. The employees were enhusiastic and gave my son plenty of attention. We all left with our necks full of mardi gras beads. (I also found a coupon on BG's web site for a free specialty drink ($3-4)....worth checking out). We also considered a character dinner at one of the hotels where Scooby Doo, Shrek and others attend, but ended up spending more time in the parks and never did it.
